Normally we’re quite pro-McDix around here on McDonald’s Mondays, however, in an effort to provide fair and mcbalanced coverage (and in an effort to showcase something really cool) we present The Bionic Burger.
While the first part of this video is a re-creation and the last part of the video is fact-based slander, it’s the middle part of this video that makes sitting through this worthwhile. In it, they showcase The Burger Museum — a collection of McDonald’s hamburgers that have been left out for years — the earliest being 1989 — and have yet to decompose.
This video is an attempt to plug the website thebestdayever.com, which is basically just a pricey weight-loss infomercial. That being said, images of The Burger Museum (including a live webcam of the most recent entry) are on a sub-page which I’ve linked to here.
So now when the nuclear winter settles in, we’ll have Twinkies AND Big Macs to munch on. The post-apocalypse isn’t looking so bad after all.
McDonald’s Mondays is a weekly series of posts written by our own Jim Squires that initially appears on his pop culture blog fjetsam.com.
I have no idea why anyone would be “pro” McDonald’s, since it offers nothing to the world in a positive sense except for cheap burgers, but I guess we all need something to fight for. In any case, please learn the definition of slander. There’s no such thing as “fact based slander”, since slander must be an untruth to begin with. If those are the ingredients found in the burger, then that’s what it is. Anyway, that was the worst anti-McDonald’s ad I’ve seen, why did you show it again? Go to http://www.mcspotlight.org/ if you want a good reason to not eat at McDonald’s.
Jason – we’re just trying to have a little fun around here every Monday with our McDonald’s Mondays posts. “Fact based slander” was sort of a tongue-in-cheek thing. We posted it because we thought that burgers not decomposing after 18 years was kind of funny. Try not to take life so seriously – they’re only burgers. 🙂
Jason, us readers sense that you are suffering from a bit of the Monday Blahs. It wasn’t that bad, and it certainly has given me reason to think twice about a nice “treat” for the kids…
Too true, I guess I jumped the gun a bit and posted before having my coffee (still haven’t!) – always a bad idea. The video reminded me of another video I saw where a guy let hamburgers from different restaurants (including McDonald’s) sit in his apartment hallway and filmed them rot. Can’t for the life of me find it now, though. Anyone seen it?
Okay… going down to buy a coffee now. Sorry!
The list of ingredients is down right scary!!
I think that’ll be cut off the “treat” list. eww!
