Moonlight Madness at Zellers This Weekend (June 18 – 19, 2010)

zellers

This Friday and Saturday, Zellers  is holding their Moonlight Madness event. Check out the flyer in your area for some great deals. What they do is close the store down an hour before the sale starts, then open again at the start of the sale. I’ve been to one of these before and people actually start lining up outside, waiting for the doors to open. It’s craaaaaaazy!!!

Big thanks to NateandAva for the hot tip!

At least at my store they are calling it a ‘marathon’ madness- from 6-10 on Fri, and 8-11 on Sat.

I won’t go to these again after finding out after the fact that they give out numbers to those who arrive before the hour sale starts so there is no point in trying. If you aren’t one of the first 10 than stay home.

The stores here are giving away a $50 gift card at 9:15 on Friday. I wonder what the process is to enter that contest.

I’m looking to get my hands on one of the kids picnic tables. It’s a great price I just hope there’s more than two in stock!

I work at a Zellers, and I’ve had to work these things a few times. The really sad thing about these Moonlight Madness event is that a lot of the time head office makes the flyers six months in advance, and then neglects to ship the products to the stores on time for the sale. We’ll get it shipped in a week later, and for the whole night I’ll have to listen to people complain to me about how bad Zellers is for never having products in. It’s not each individual store, it’s head office not accounting for the potential delays in the shipping/receiving process.

Just a note, please be kind to the employees on the floor. It is a very stressful night for us, with our managers constantly yelling and cutting our break times in order to get more sales. We don’t get out until two hours after the store closes on this night, and frankly we have better things to do on a Friday night. We don’t order the products, we find out what’s on sale at the same time you do (when the flyer is released) and we don’t have any control on what rings up for the right price and what doesn’t. We are just there to point you in the right direction and clean up your mess. So be considerate.

Unless you’re looking for one of the top items that starts selling at opening, come approximately one hour afterward to avoid the rush at the door. Expect long lines, very little room to maneuver, and watch your heels or you’ll find them rammed by a frustrated shopper with a cart.

    Happy shopping!

  7. The following time I read a blog, I hope that it doesn’t disappoint me as a lot as this one. I mean, I do know it was my option to learn, however I actually thought youd have one thing fascinating to say. All I hear is a bunch of whining about something that you can repair in the event you werent too busy in search of attention.
