Can anyone recommend the Frost Free jacket from Old Navy as being a very warm winter jacket for kids? I was going to buy the Warmest Jacket from the Gap, but they are sold out of my son’s size. Does the Old Navy jacket compare? We are about to move to a very cold city where the daily winter temperatures are normally between -15°C and -25°C. I want to make sure that he stays as warm as possible whenever we are outside.

I buy frost free jackets for my kids to wear in late fall/early winter only, because the poly is not very warm. Once it is below 0 celsius, I prefer they wear down coats. This year the warmest jackets from the Gap were not all down filled, as they have been in previous years, some of them were poly fill. You can to check. I ended up ordering jackets online from Land’s End, and was pretty happy with them, they always have sales and free shipping. Their jackets are cold rated, so you can pick the warmth level you need. You could also try L.L. Bean online, but they don’t go on sale until later in the winter.

Does anybody know why on old navy’s shoppapalooza.ca site (which are also linked on the banner ads here) it says that their stores in Canada are closed on Thursday Nov.24? They are open in the US and it’s Thanksgiving there. Are they closing to prepare for the Friday and weekend sales? But if they are why are there Thursday Deals on the site advertised then?? So is that a typo or are the Thursday Deals online only?

Thanks to anyone that can help clarify this 🙂

Donna – thanks for the suggestions! I will definitely look into the Land’s End website site. I like knowing what the cold ratings are so that I don’t have to try to figure it out on my own and then be worried about whether or not the kids are staying warm enough! 🙂

Security + is a good stepping stone certification covers a lot of basic ideas that might be beneficial if you lack any security experience. If you’ve passed the CCNA and are thinking to get into the security field, CCSP is definitely the way to go providing you want a vendor specific certification. Otherwise CISSP or even CEH (which honestly, I don’t know how in-demand this certification is).
