Our friends at SmartSource.ca just sent us an email saying that there will be Target store coupons and SmartSource will be hosting them starting in April. The manager said they would have their coupon policy by April too so will be fun to see what coupons we get!
We will watch for them to go live and let you know when they do. They will be hosted on Target’s website, similar to the RCSS coupons now available.
Visit a Bath & Body Works location on March 9th for their Spring Market Event and receive a free gift with any home fragrance purchase. In addition to free samples you will receive a a gift bag and Market Peach 4oz candle, a $14.50 value, with your home fragrance purchase. Click here to visit them on Facebook.
When I mentioned I was going to Target, many of you had questions. So here are the answers:
What kind of clothing do they have? What are the prices like?
They have quite the assortment. The clothing section is bigger than that in my local Walmart and well organized. They currently have a lot of summer clothing out with great prices. There are some pictures in the slideshow.
Do they have any plus size clothing?
They did not seem to have a plus size section, but many of the clothes in the regular section went to XXL
What kind of baby products do they have & what are the prices like?
I am the last person you should be asking about baby stuff, but I took lots of pics. If you click on the slideshow you can view the images bigger and maybe even see a few price tags 😉
Do they have craft stuff? Knitting etc
No, they did not. I asked an employee and she said the selection did differ by store but it did seem to be something they were missing and she would bring it up.
What are their DVD prices like?
They have a selection for under $10 (a fairly large selection too) and the rest were reasonably priced but not super cheap. They have a large Blu-Ray section for under $15 and a music section for under $5
Do they have my favourite “insert random US product here”
Unless it is one of their brands, (Up&Up, Every Day Market, Archers Farms etc) no they do not. Most of the foods are from Canada, the prices on their brands from the US are higher here which they attribute to shipping, import costs and the dollar.
Food Prices? Shredded Cheese prices? They are so cheap in the US
Sorry, nothing was super cheap in the food aisles. Their cheapest own brand of shredded cheese was $5.48, Kraft was $6.99. Many people were commenting that the discount grocery stores (No Frills, FreshCo, Food Basics etc) were cheaper. They do have a decent selection, but it does not rival that of a Walmart SuperCentre.
What kind of milk do they carry? How much is it?
They carry Neilson milk and the regular type, 2% 4L bagged milk is $4.24
Some other interesting stuff that I noticed but was not asked:
They are not pushy about the RedCard but they were a little slow in the CS line dealing with the cards.
They have a 25% discount on all books, which is great given the Canadian markup on them.
They are quite Apple centred for electronics.
You get a 5c discount on your shopping for using reusable bags!
I had fun at Target this morning so thought I would start with some of your questions while the pics upload
Do they have a coupon policy? Will we be able to stack store coupons with manufacturer coupons
They do not have a coupon policy in place yet and hope to have one in approx 4 weeks. So time will tell I guess. There doesn’t seem to be a place for any store coupons, but they are not 100% finished yet. However they will be accepting coupons, there is a button on self-checkout to enter coupons. UPDATE They will have printable coupons available on their website hosted by smartsource
They will be offering $0.05 discount on your shopping if you use your own bags, they do not charge for plastic bags and have tote bags available for $0.99.
You are likely already aware of the discount for using their REDcard which is linked to your bank account.
They will be price-matching; you need to have a printed local flyer from a competitor. There will be a limit on the items you can price-match but it has not been determined yet.
They will also be doing price adjustments if the price is lowered in the same week or the week following your purchase (make sure you keep your receipt)
