The Please Mum 1/2 off sale is still running but even better is the new additions to the clearance section! I found tons of great new markdowns tonight. I ended up with over $50 worth of great items! In the boys sections they have some blazers marked down as low as $6.99 regular price of $39.99! Some raincoats at $29.99 regular $59.99. I’m sure these new markdowns will sell out quickly so don’t delay! Click here to check out Please Mum, and remember all orders qualify for free shipping!

For the month of September when you either renew or purchase an irewards card from Chapters you will get 20% on all regular priced merchandise you buy doing that transaction. So the purchase does have to be made in a Chapters store. If you’re a big reader and purchase your own books an irewards card is a great way to save. You save both in store and online with it. Sadly, I renewed mine in July.

Today I was reading an article on Msn.ca about the worlds rudest cities. Toronto made the list.
It’s the city every other Canadian city loves to hate. It’s dirty, rude and crime-ridden, decry her most hardened critics. But in the latest StatsCan survey, Toronto actually came out third to last in police-reported crime statistics. Topping the list were prairie towns Regina, Saskatoon and Winnipeg. As for being dirty and rude, we like to call it grit and character. True, Torontonians walk with steady purpose and may mow you down should you dare to amble leisurely down Yonge Street during pedestrian rush hour. But they do, after all, work in the economic engine of the country and have a lot of work to do. And if you live in a mono-coloured city of cookie-cutter houses in the rolling hills of suburbia, then yes, you may be thrown by the traffic, the diversity and the colourful characters you may meet. But remember, you’re not in Kansas anymore
Do you agree with this title? Having been in Toronto dozens of times I don’t think I’d give it that title. I’ve found other cities in Ontario way worse.
Heres the link to the MSN article.
This coming weeks Loblaw flyer in Quebec has Oasis juice on sale for just $0.89. If you have the $0.75 coupon that came in the Chatelaine, Homemakers and Canadian Living magazines you can get one for just $0.14. Since I don’t live in Quebec I sure hope this deal is on at a store near me soon so I can use up my coupon before it expires next March.
Thanks to couponlady for posting the flyer.
This coming weeks Maxi flyer has Dole bagged salad on sale for just $0.99. If you are one of the lucky ones like myself to have the $0.75 coupon you can grab one for just $0.24. I am not sure where the coupon came from as I got mine in a coupon trade but they do expire Dec.31,2010 so if you add them to your coupon wish list maybe you can get your hands on one in time for the next great sale like this.
Thanks to couponlady for posting the flyer.

So it seems that Amazon.ca is having a pretty decent deal on some TV shows, which you will find listed below:

Here is another freebie from John Frieda. Don’t forget to tick the box on the bottom for the sample request. Sample includes Luxurious Volume Shampoo (8.3 mL), Luxurious Volume Conditioner (8.3 mL), and Gel Creme (4.4 mL). They had a sample for their Sheer Blonde line awhile back, and I received that. Can’t wait for this one!

Thanks Michelle03 for finding this freebie!

I saw this sign outside The Children’s Place at the mall yesterday but I wasn’t able to make it inside. If you go check out this sale, please let us know what items are on for $6. It’s been a little over a year since our last caption challenge, so we’ll forgive some of our newer readers if they make puzzles faces when we say the word “return.” The challenge (as well as it’s author, humble ol’ Jim Squires) has returned from a lengthy hiatus, eager to see what silly captions the SmartCanucks readers are ready to create!
And before you ask, sorry folks, there’s no prizing or winners here. The challenge is simply a weekly exercise in silliness where the suggestions of your fellow SmartCanuckers can quickly put a smile on your face. If you’d like to enjoy some of the past entries, feel free to explore the tag caption challenge.
This week’s photo challenge takes place at Washington’s Lincoln Memorial, where the famed marble man sits atop his perch, getting a much needed ear de-waxing. Far be it from me to advise the former presidents, but they really say you shouldn’t stick anything smaller than an elbow in your ear… Although I guess a cotton swab of that size is a bit bigger than the common elbow.
So without further ado, please give Mr. Lincoln and his swab swinging friend your best captions in the comments!
