Who loves auctions? Bargain hunters do! And if you’re one (I mean who here isn’t?) then it’s time to add homedepot.ca to your list of websites you stroll though on a daily basis. Every day from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. ET Home Depot Canada auctions off a brand new item. Some days you’ll love the items, some days you won’t, but you can rest assured that it’s all brand new Home Depot merchandise backed by the same return and exchange policy as items purchased right off their shelves. This ensures that you won’t be stuck with a box full of used stuff that no one before you would bid on and that the auctioneer wants to get rid of so badly that s/he’ll make you take it to get that one item you really want (yes some auctions do this – I mean a used foot bath! that was some ‘estate sale’). :-p
To participate in Home Depot’s daily auction you must register with the site and be the proud holder of a credit card in good standing. Here are a couple of points to ponder as you decide how much to bid:
-always find out how much the product is worth, and then remember! It is so easy to get caught up in auction bidding, I mean we’re all pretty good bargain hunters so we have an edge up, but still . . . I did once pay a little (maybe in the hundreds) too much for an antique toy horse I felt I had to have. Remember there will always be more opportunities to bargain shop!
-when bidding on an item at homedepot.ca keep in mind that they will add taxes and shipping costs to the winning bid.
-and for some good news, you may end up paying less than you bid. Home Depot auctions generally have more than one of the same item up for bid. In order to make it fair, if there are five items then Home Depot takes the top five bids and gives all of those five bidders the item for the lowest of the five bids. Not often that you agree to pay a certain price and the seller says ‘no, here, take if for less’ Bonus!
