I got an email from Cory and Deanna (who I guess are the creators of StudioTax) telling me that their certified Canadian Income tax program, StudioTax, is once again free this year. I tried StudioTax last year and I can confidently say that it’s a very neat, practical tax program. Their claim is also true, the program is totally free; they basically make money by accepting donations and by placing ads on their website.
You can download StudioTax or find more about it here
Not a big fan of Costco myself, but if you do shop at Costco or have plans of doing so, this coupon code will help you save a few bucks:
Signup at costco.ca and use coupon code GSWEB25B. You’ll get a $25 gift certificate which means that you end up paying $30 for a 1 year Costco membership. This is for new membership only.
Just for your information, a lot of people love Costco because it offers rebates, an inexpensive restaurant, bulk quantities (=savings) and 100% customer satisfaction (you can almost refund any item anytime and they will take it back)
As many of you probably know, I’m a bit of a geek. What you probably don’t know (but won’t be surprised to hear) is that I have two dozen longboxes of comics in storage – a collection that spanned the 13 years

between my youth and the birth of my daughter. Of course, when you
have a kid, certain sacrifices have to be made – for me it was my $40 a week comic book habit. Sadly, I thought I’d never be able to enjoy a good comic book again. But it looks like Marvel has come to my rescue!
Over at marvel.com they have more than a hundred comic books available online, from modern issues of popular titles to classic comics from way back when. All you have to do to access these is register with their site (it’s free) and then visit their digital comics page. Whether you’re a comic nut who’s all grown up or a parent who wants to get their kids reading a little more, mighty Marvel’s got you covered.

I’ve been playing this Tower Defense Strategy game all morning and I can’t stop! Don’t blame me if you waste the next 6 hours playing this game! If you think you’re easily addicted don’t try it out. You’ve been warned!
What’s your highest score? I can’t seem to go too far. My best is only 4854.

Scene is a new rewards program by Cineplex (started on Jan 25, 2007). Unfortunately it is currently available in the Greater Toronto Area only. Hopefully cineplex will expand nationwide soon. This is an easy way of earning points for free movie tickets. Most of us buy Cineplex tickets anyhow, so we might as well get rewarded.
As a SCENE member, your night at the movies turns into a free ticket faster than you may think:
– Earn 250 points just for signing up
– Earn 100 points every time you buy a movie ticket at participating Cineplex Entertainment theatres, including Cineplex Odeon, Galaxy Cinemas, Famous Players, Coliseum, Colossus, SilverCity and Scotiabank Theatre Toronto (formerly the Paramount) (maximum 2 visits per day), up to 200 points a day if you stay for a double feature!
– Earn 120 points when you purchase movie tickets online with JUMP! at cineplex.com
– Earn 50 points for each child’s ticket (maximum 2 visits per day)
Click here for more details and to signup to Cineplex Scene
Since I’ve been getting a lot or requests for this flyer, I’ll be either scanning it weekly or listing the items. I will then place this in the forum’s flyers section.

– Plantronics Voyager 510 Bluetooth Headset for $79 $49
– American Power Conversion BE750BB Back-UPS ES 750VA for $99 $59
– Honeywell Projection Clock Atomic\Weather Forecaster for $99 $39
Nothing good today. What a disappointing way of ending their days of deals.

I know this is a few months old, but I can watch this video over and over. Very inspirational

You can find about Matt’s story here

– Startech 3-Port USB 2.0 Hub and 16-in-1 Memory Card Reader for $40 $19
– Griffin iTrip Auto Universal Plus FM Transmitter and PowerJolt Auto Charger for $59 $29
– Dell Colour Laser Printer 3010cn for $429 $299
The memory card reader is an ok deal. If you have different card technologies that you need to easily read from your PC then go for it.
The Griffin iTrip is a good deal for iPod owners (or any other mp3 players that lack an FM tuner). It’ll provide an FM Transmitter.
$299 for a colour laser printer is acceptable but why would you want to spend that much on a printer anyhow?
