KFC Canada is now offering a Vegan sandwich. Peta and KFC Canada are together promoting the sandwich by offering a Buy one KFC Vegetarian Sandwich Get one free. The coupon expires on September 30, 2008.
I usually hate Peta’s antiques antics and disgusting ways of pushing vegetarianism but I have to admit this is a decent offer.

It’s a little blue (hence the big black bar of censorship), but the guys got a point. Who thought a masked criminal would be an apporpriate character to promote hamburgers? It’s a weird combination to be sure.
I’ll bet the Hamburglar is really just a street thug. The real brains behind the operations? Wimpy.

With the election looming little more than three weeks away, I’ve been trying to put the smart in Smart Canucks and bone up on my Canadian politics. Thus far I’ve been focussing almost all of my attention on CBC’s Canada Votes website for news and coverage. I like that it has an RSS feed and seems to cover every twist and turn along the campaign trail, but I don’t like that I’m getting almost all of my news from one source.
Can anybody out there recommend a good alternative? Where are you going online to get the skinny on the forthcoming election?

Rockin’ Kitty posted on the Canadian Shopping Forum about Dollarama’s price hikes.
After 16 years of selling items at no more than $1 each, Dollarama’s executives say the chain is just trying to keep up with the times, and rising prices worldwide. Dollarama stores will be raising their prices come February 2009. The prices are going to be $1.25, $1.50 and $2.00 🙁
Dollarama’s probably too cheap to hire a designer to change their logo (they don’t even have a proper website) so I’ve updated it for them using my amateur design skills 😛
What do you think of this Dollarama price hike? Will you still be shopping there?
