Today at Amazon.ca, the Philips HF3520 Wake-Up Light is on sale for $119.99. This is the lowest price around. We have one of these in the bedroom and it is just fantastic. Not only does it provide a nice light for reading, but it’s dimmable completely so is great for any kind of brightness you want (there are 20 brightness settings, from 1-20).
I’d say the colour of the light is like the “Warm Glow” Philips LED lightbulbs – it’s probably similar technology, if not the same. As you dim, the colour gets warmer which is very nice. When it wakes you up in the morning, it starts low and ramps up, then can play a number of nice noises to help wake you up, such as bird songs. It also has a radio built into it.
When it’s time for bed, it also has a configurable timed shutoff mode, where it will slowly dim the light and eventually turn it off. I was skeptical at first when we bought this, but am completely sold on how great it is now, 3 years later, and at a much lower price now.
