Calling all gamers! Want to take your hobby to a new level? Nintendo will release amiibo, characters designed to interact with compatible Nintendo games, on December 31st, 2014. The first series released will be for Super Smash Bros., Wii U Edition, which you can pre-order on Amazon.ca today for $13.99.
By holding the amiibo over your Wii U Game Pad you will unlock exciting experiences for each corresponding game. In Super Smash Bros, once you scan your amiibo into the game, you’ll be able to team up with it in battle, fight against your amiibo, or watch it fight other in-game characters. Your amiibo will store data while you play, creating a your own customized amiibo to take with you whenever you play.
Several other games will offer amiibo compatibility, which include Mario Kart 8, Captain Toad: treasure Tracker, Mario Party 10, Yoshi’s Woolly World and many more. Different experiences and challenges will be unlocked for each game your amiibo interacts with.
