The other day we brought you the news that the Canadian Food Inspection Agency had put out a recall for all President’s Choice brand Moroccan-Style Hummus (227g), that was due to a suspected outbreak of the bacteria Staphylococcus that produces a dangerous toxin. They have now updated this recall to now include all President’s Choice brand hummus and dip products, as they all may contain the dangerous bacteria.

The products that are now included in the recall are:

• Hummus (454g), UPC: 0 60383 03582 2
• Spicy Hummus (227g), UPC: 0 60383 03598 3
• Hummus (227g), UPC: 0 60383 03580 8
• Spicy Hummus (454g), UPC: 0 60383 03597 6
• Caramelized Vidalia Onion Hummus (227g), UPC: 0 60383 06051 0
• Roasted Garlic Hummus (227g), UPC: 0 60383 03581 5
• Rosted Garlic Red Pepper and Cumin Hummus (280g), UPC: 0 60383 13518 8
• Roasted Pepper and Paprika Hummus (280g), UPC: 0 60383 13517 1
• Roasted Red Pepper and Chipotle Hummus (280g), UPC: 0 60383 13519 5
• Butter Bean and Roasted Garlic Hummus (280g), UPC: 0 60383 13392 4
• Moroccan-Style Hummus (280g), UPC: 0 60383 13387 0
• Olive Tapenade Hummus (280g), UPC: 0 60383 13388 7
• Red Harissa Hummus (280g), UPC: 0 60383 13390 0
• Sweet Potato and Harissa Dip (280g), UPC: 0 60383 13391 7

Before, there had been no reported illnesses due to this bacteria. That has now changed as there have been reported cases of people presenting symptoms of poisoning from this toxin.

This is a nationwide recall and it applies to all expiry dates on the listed products.
