I have a very small account at RBC but do most of my banking elsewhere and was invited to set up an appointment. The teller told me to bring at least 2 months statements from my other bank and I did not want to print them off they could. You also agree to give them all the information that they request which is so much more than how much you pay in bank fees. They are basically trying to lure you into their bank. They wanted asset info, home/mortgage information, employment info (length of employment and salary info), retirement info.
I felt it was a lot more than what the teller had told me.
I walked out.
I booked for an apt,and showed up today at the branch, guess what, they just ran out of all the giftcards.
Message to RBC: Miss leading Ad.
if what don’t have the gift card, just don’t bother to book the apt and waste other people’s time.
