These 250$ free coupons really bother me at Superstore,(mostly because it’s not practical even though I always want to get it) And they have them frequently.. I have a family of 4 and rarely spend 150 there a week and my cart is stuffed full. I remember a few times my mother asked me to do her shopping to I did and got a 25$ gift card but wow I could barely push my cart or cram another item in there, and then you have to somehow fit a slowcooker? You’d need to come shopping with 2 people and carts just to get these deals.

I know, we did the same thing at Christmas to get the free Christmas tree….it is tough to spend $250 and fit it in one cart….I guess if you bought 10 turkeys or 10 roasts or 20 steaks, it would be easier….it did seem that I was just buying some things to get to that magic level!!

I wish they would have a PC coffeemaker giveaway. It looks nice and I need a new one.

These promotions are brilliant. They state the “retail value” at $29.99, so it’s a 12% return on your $250 purchase. Of course their cost on a slow cooker isn’t $29.99… it’s likely somewhere around $20-$25 before they tack on their margin. Then factor in that it’s a President’s Choice (PC) slow cooker and they save significantly over selling brand-name appliances, so their cost per unit is probably somewhere around $10-$15. You spend $250 on groceries, they pony up $10 of profit to thank you with cheap (but still decent quality) merchandise. 🙂

I’ve spent more than $250 on many occasions … obviously not every time, but there are lots of people who can benefit!

There are great deals to be had at the Superstore. Even if you aren’t getting the freebie, you will save tons of money. Produce is awesome.

In MB, the free cooker is from Hamilton Beach

I spent $300 on Sun and am not able to get the free slow cooker. The reason was because it was ‘sold out’. Instead, they offer to give me a PC coffee grinder which I don’t need at all. Screw it…. It doesn’t let you raincheck the slow cooker neither. The customer service sucks!
