The battery in the Ionic smartwatch can overheat, posing a burn hazard. Fitbit are taking this action out of an abundance of caution for our users. Fitbit will offer a refund to Fitbit Ionic customers. This voluntary recall is specific to Fitbit Ionic devices. It does not impact any other Fitbit smartwatches or trackers. Health Canada has said that this recall involves the Ionic fitness-orientated smartwatch. It is equipped with a lithium-ion battery with an approximately four-day battery life. The Ionic has a 1.4-inch (3.6 cm) colour LCD display and is available with multiple polyurethane band sizes to accommodate varying consumer wrist sizes.
