Another Boxing Day flyer scan posted exclusively on Smart Canucks.
The biggest losers in the world and one of Canada’s most dangerous Monopolies, Shoppers Drug Mart, have started sending out their 2008 Boxing Day flyers. Thank you prince$$ for taking pictures of the flyer. These flyer scans are a bit large to post on the blog so the easiest way is to read them on the forum.
To Shoppers Drug Mart Lawyers: SDM has started sending out the flyer to the public so I’m not breaking our deal 😛

Wow, you guys are a bunch of hypocrites!
You obviously have a problem with Shoppers, yet you continue to promote and advertise their flyers, and even ran a referral scheme that _encouraged_ people to shop there. If you really had a problem with them, why would you not stop promoting them altogether?
Oh, and how exactly is Shoppers a monopoly in Canada, let alone a “dangerous” one? They are as far away from a monopoly as you can get in this country.
DevilsAdvocate you don’t have to read my blog if you don’t like it.
DevilsAdvocate – go away.
I think Devil’s Advocate has a point:
Shoppers is not a monopoly. There are many other pharmacies, albeit not as big. Like Rexall (Pharma Plus), small independant drug stores and pharmacies, and you can get the other things they sell at Loblaws, Metro, Walmart, and many other places. It is not a monopoly.
Second there prices are high, I do agree. But some things they sell for cheap, like Milk.
They charge high prices because they have high overhead in the locations that are bigger. They are becoming a big box store.
There’s nothing wrong with making money, when there is enough competition as is true in Shoppers’ case. And you can benefit from their profits by buying their stocks which are traded publically.
