Shoppers Drug Mart 20X Optimum Points October 7

Shoppers Drug Mart is having yet another 20X points event this Saturday when you spend over $50. Some branches are starting the event on Friday.

This is a good time to buy electronics such as iPods from Shoppers Drug Mart and make use of their huge 20X reward.

so they give the 20X points on everything you buy over 50 or if you buy 50 or more, you get the 20X points? anyone know

    thanks

if you buy 50 or more

usually you’d collect 10 Shoppers Optimum Points for every $1 you spend. On a 20x day you’ll get 20x the points i.e. 200 points for every dollar you spend

for example if you buy stuff for say exactly $50 + tax you’ll get:
50 x 200 = 10,000 points! which is equivalent to about $15 of free products from Shoppers:

    hope i didn’t confuse you 😉

You get 20x points on cash only. So If you buy stuff with $80 and you redeem say 40,000 ($75), you get only on $5 the points … it means 5 * 10 * 20 = 1000 points (around a $1). I see SDM is expensive and over priced shop… after I got all of these points what can I do with it … Can not redeem it for gift cards , can redeem it for transit passes, can not redeem it for drugs … Can not redeem for a useful thing …
SDM, I will not redeem my points for over priced items … I will not buy an Ipod for double of the price of futureshop …

Advice thanks for your advice 🙂

Overall, Shoppers is overpriced but it always has a few good deals. What I do on a 20x day is buy all the bargain stuff (that i need). For example Shoppers sells the milk for $3.77 (cheaper than most places) so I buy 3 x $3.77 and my uncle does the same. That’s $22 well spent. I freeze the milk so it doesn’t go bad and stays fresh. I then shop for other bargains in store. If there’s nothing good or my uncle isn’t shopping I’d go for one of Shoppers’ regular $20 perfumes like the Alfred Sung, Ferrari (sometimes), etc.

basically the secret is in sharing with another relative or friend who has his own family. That way everyone needs to spend $25 only.

At Shoppers one person uses his optimum card and gets the 20x and then you can transfer the percentage of points to the other person online.
