Shoppers Drug Mart: 20x Optimum Points on October 9, 2010

20x-points

Yes! Once again you heard it here first! Another 20x the points event at SDM on Saturday, Oct. 9, 2010. I love that they’re doing this event so much more often now, it makes collecting points to reach bonus redemption levels much easier. Can’t wait to see the flyer to make my shopping list! Hint: If you have any high-value coupons (such as the P&G $9 and $5 ones), hold onto them until Saturday.

Thank you to CrazyQT for the early heads up!

    oh yay! thanks for the info! i’ve never done one of these before! Is it 50$ before coupons?

    that’s what i’m wondering too.. if so that’s amazing!

    the total has to be $50 or more with or without coupons, and before taxes. Also for anyone that is a gamer, or is looking for a great X-mas gift, SDM now sells PS3, Wii and Gameboys. Also don’t forget about digital cameras. These purchases should help in gaining a lot of points.

    I am pretty sure you will be able to receive the 20X points if your total is less than $50 (after coupons, since coupons are considered a form of payment/cash). For example, assume that your total (after tax) came to $55 and then you used $20 in coupons which reduces the amount you paid out of pocket to $35. You will end up with the 20X points. There are avid SDM professionals on this board that could probably confirm/clarify the process for you: http://forum.smartcanucks.ca/shoppers-drug-mart/. I have never tried this myself, but it seems, based on the experiences of most SCs that it can be done!

    You are right SDM newbie, the value of your coupons counts towards the $50 threshold as long as they are coded as ‘2001’ at the cash register. If they are coded as ‘2002’, then they won’t count so you have to be careful of that.

    2001 = regular coupons
    2002 = free product coupons (FPCs)
