One of the great thing about being an Optimum addict is making friends with cashiers who will tell you about upcoming promotions.  Several of our forum members have been told that the upcoming promotion is a bonus redemption event.

• Redeem 50,000 Optimum points and get $100 to spend (regular $85)
• Redeem 95,000 Optimum points and get $200 to spend (regular $170)

These events are great for picking up big ticket items.  I find the prices for redemption events are higher for the regular items I buy so make sure you are getting your money’s worth shopping at the bonus redemption event.  If you work in downtown city cores like Toronto or Ottawa, you can often redeem on Friday and use the current flyer to give you more choice in sale prices.

Remember, when redeeming you will not earn points on items that are 20x Optimum points, but you do get points when the item has a set number of points, so stock up on those and get some of your points back.
