@ShopprsDrugMart

This weekends Shoppers Drug Mart promotion is  a good one, considering the cost of gas lately.  This Saturday and Sunday, when you spend $75 you will get a $20 gift card to Petro Canada.  I love when you get something you can use for spending money that you were going to spend anyways!

Thanks to Saving Moola for posting the upcoming Shoppers Drug Mart flyer for us!

    SDM is so high priced that you can buy the same $75 worth of stuff at Walmart for $20 less and use that for gas. I used to shop at SDM all the time in university because it was close by and when I realized how much cheaper everything is elsewhere I was disappointed I could’ve had more money for everything else a broke student needs haha!

    Some examples, the L’oreal face wash my sister uses is $4 less at Walmart, my Cover Girl foundation is $3 less.

  2. Leslie says:

    Emmie, NEVER buy ANYTHING at full price. Wait until it is on sale, use coupons. Shop wisely, and you will get your SDM points on top of sale prices. PLUS the gas card.

  3. Emmie says:

    Yeah but here we’re talking about a 2 day sale, so you have to find $75 worth of useful stuff that’s on sale this weekend, and enough of a sale to make up for the price difference between SDM and Walmart to make it worthwhile for the gas card.

  4. SDM convert says:

    I find $75 hard to spend on reasonably priced items but the $50 bonus point days are doable if I include my weekly eggs/milk/bread and other well-priced groceries.

  5. harriet says:

    Totally agree with the convert, it is eggs, milk, often toilet paper, sometimes cereal, bread etc. I earn the points so I don’t begrudge my 14 year buying all the crap she does in makeup and hair stuff when we cash in the points.

    WARNING I played played promo and spent 75.00 last year only to get a gas card valid for about three weeks. I did not know this and lost out trying to use it about one month later. When I called SDM head office, they told me there is nothing they will do about it 🙁

  7. Sue says:

    Sales prices at SDM in London, ON are still way higher that same products at No Frills or Wallymart. And since they changed their points structure years ago, collecting those isn’t worth it.

  8. Sue says:

    I don’t usually find it hard to spend the money, but I have 5 kids who drink a lot of milk (and I have a second fridge) so I usually but 5 or 6 milk jugs at these events! That goes a long way to meeting the target amount!
