I tried this and you have to install Microsoft Silver Light to upload your pictures. It only took about 10 seconds to install, no biggie. The photo books look really nice, you can choose your background and put captions on your photos. Remember that it’s the softcover 20-page 7×9 type that the promo code covers. If your photo book does not fit these specifications exactly, the promo code will not work. Once you finish making it you can choose which SDM location to pick it up. The retail value for the photo book is $14.99, great freebie!
***UPDATE*** I called Customer Service because my confirmation email said $14.99 payment due at pick-up, while when I submitted my order with the promo code it said $0. The CS rep said that the auto-reply confirmation email has not yet been updated with the free promo, but when your order comes to the store it should indeed be $0. Any problems, the number to call is 1 888 327 9749.

Forget my above comment. The shoppers site is messed up in that they still link you to easypix.ca (where you can’t get the soft cover book). You have to click on the link and go through shoppersphoto.ca to get the free offer. Question is: why are they still using easypix if they’re promoting shoppersphoto???

I just made one and it looks AWESOME! I used all photos from Facebook and it was super easy. I can pick it up down the street in 5-7 days and it said I will get 1400 optimum points!

You have to type in the promo code again (last step before you hit confirm order). I did that and I got a confirmation email, but it didn’t state that I had to pay anything.
I did type the code photo, but my email said the same thing- $14.99.
I’m printing my order summary for confirmation where it says $0. Lets see what happens when we go to pick up.

Is anyone else having the same problems with this site? All of my photos are high resolution (5MB) and yet they are uploading as if they are poor resolution… many of the photos are coming up with (!) on them…?? Also, has anyone found a direct number to call to get help? thanks!
I have the same problem Cat. It took forever to load them and most of them warn they are low resolution.
How soon did you get a confirmation email ??
Cat – I made my pics smaller that had (!) on them and then they worked… most of mine were from facebook as I found that loaded MUCH faster but resolution will definately not be as good.
My problem is finding the book if I have to leave the site… I have 2 small kids and when I closed the book I was making half way through when I went back I couldn’t find it even though I had saved it?! Can anyone tell me how to get back to a project??
Elisam: I got the confirmation immediately…within 2-3 min after chking out….did u chk ur junk/spam folder? may b ur confirmation went in there.
the interface on their site is HORRIBLE. I gave up. Free or not, it just wasn’t worth it.
This sounds great – I’m just starting. What is a ‘printable’ cover? Does it mean that the first of the 20 photos will be on the cover? Also, should I upload in the desired order of photos?
Now the ‘add photos’ link doesn’t work, but the facebook one will! Suggestions?? Can I refresh?

hopefully this update is applicable to everyone because I only did this as it was a freebie to see what their quality is like (and for a cheap xmas present for someone! lol) hopefully comes out as owing zero at the store!
Sigh* I selected all my photos but it seems to be stuck on trying to upload the first one which is 482K. Is that too big? Most of mine are between that and 600K; one is 80+ and another is 1M. Guess I’ll have to cancel and try again tomorrow. 🙁

yipeeee….got my photobook…made 2 more now. Its awesome!!! pic quality looks great even though i had low resolution sign on some of them….it takes a lot of work (to find pics, edit them, add txt n all…) but its worth it!!!
Its thin- obviously coz its soft cover, but its much better than the preview they show you after u’re done with the photobook!!

It only shows the first 25 pictures I uploaded. I have another 8 to upload. It says they are uploaded, green ticks n all. But the extra 8 never show up anywhere. tried various browers… any ideas appreciated – thx

surprisingly, i didnt get a call for it either…but i went in n there it was. I ordered 2 more, but haven’t heard from them yet. I call pretty much everyday n check if anything came in for me..lol….been over a week since i did it 🙁

I was wondering if anyone else were notified that their books were ready but I guess not. I may call or just drop-in this weekend on the off-chance it is ready. I hope there are no problems getting it for Free as promised!
I got a call today that my book is ready to pick up. I made mine on the 20th so it took almost 2 weeks.
I called again and just found out that it is in. I didn’t get a phone call either. I had to wait for 16 days for it. I’m going to pick it up tomorrow. Can’t wait to see what it looks like!
I picked up mine today and it is fabulous. Excellent color and photos are very clear. I’m doing another one tonight. I did have to wait 12 days but worth it.
I picked up mine today (it was there since the 30th but I kept forgetting to get it) and like it a lot but find the cover is gonna get wrecked… it is on glossy photo paper and finger prints show up on it… sad that it won’t hold up cuz I put so much work into it!
Hmmm… I made mine Nov 15th but when I checked on Thursday nothing was in. It’s now 3 weeks. Is there a number I can call to check the status?
