SmartSouce announced today that they are going mobile.
The new mobile version of the site uses the same URL and will allow users to scroll through the available offers and select which coupons they want from any web-enabled phone, smartphone or other mobile communications device, without having to download any special software or applications.
“We were eager to make the mobile couponing experience available to our Canadian consumer base,” said Henri Lellouche, Senior Vice President, Digital.
What does this mean for Canadians? Will stores be accepting mobile coupons soon? There certainly has been a move towards grocery stores accepting printable coupons with the increased security the coupon printer software used by companies like SmartSouce.ca. Will they be able to talk these stores into accepting mobile coupons too? With Sobey’s allowing you to save bonus points on your Club Sobeys card, it does seem like changes are coming in couponland.
Guess they would be able to track your spending habits this way too?
Most coupon companies already can using your ID # (save.ca show an account etc) and that is a primary function of most loyalty card programs
