    Thanks!

I just want to let everyone know that I went to one of these tapings last summer and it was a terrible experience.
There set where they tape is unbearabley hot and they keep you standing and clapping for about 4 or more hours straight without any water or breaks. It is not fun or glamorous or what you think it will be like. During the taping 3 girls passed out from the heat and had to be taken away by EMS. The judges are given fans, water, snacks, and the audience is treated like shit. they give you one bottle of water as you leave when you feel like you should have never came.

Thanks for sharing your personal experience, Lisa. It definitely makes you think twice before signing up for these things.

  4. Sally says:

Oh man Lisa! I would of left right away! Maybe they’ve changed things since then?

  5. FunkyMunky says:

what Lisa said! it was terribly exhausting – we had a member of the audience fainting in the front row

You basically stand around like sheep for about 3 hours even though it’s just over an hour episode… it’s not a fun experience! Only “special” people had seat tickets, the rest of us were hoarded in like sheep, not much space to move around in – my back and legs were killing me afterwards

not to mention it’s god knows where – getting home after was a pain as well

all in all – won’t recommend this to anyone!

Thanks for your input!! Not surprised…

  7. Sally says:

Im glad you guys are telling this! Think how many hundreds of people it can help! No way am I going!!!!!

  8. Alicia says:

What city does it tape in?

  9. Lindy says:

I believe in tape in Toronto, Ontario, Canada

  10. Polacco65 says:

It clearly states in the sign-up site that you have to stand for 2 hours or more – so, I changed my mind. It is not worth the free tickets.

I had a similar experience last year! I was SO excited to go — and I have to say I will NEVER EVER go again!! Hot studio – treated like cattle — standing for HOURS. Once they start taping you arent allowed to leave!

  12. Sally says:

Sounds like its a human rights nightmare!!!

  13. Flyboo says:

Yeah, went there last year. Again, i was like everyone else.. so excited to go but it sucked so much. two friends and I had to sneak out to leave because they wouldnt let you leave. It was horrible, its not worth the free tickets!

  14. Hannah says:

Wow, that sounds awful! Totally agree about the human rights violation.

  15. Cecilia says:

But I mean aside from standing for 2 hours, it being hot & stuffy, etc., was the dancing at least worthwhile?

I’m wondering if I could suck it up, just to see the dancers.

  16. Eric says:

ahhh, yest another reason to justify my hatred for these kinds of shows (Dance, Blank Idol, etc) not only do the contestants garner votes for likability instead of talent, but now I learn how they treat their audience members.

  17. FunkyMunky says:

Well in all fairness the dancing looks pretty grand (AND I got to BOOO b**ch Blake on camera lol he even boo’ed me back and called me an ant) but not really worth being stuffed into a studio for this long…
