As we mentioned recently, the Starbucks Rewards program is changing and you need to earn 300 stars before reaching Gold status just to be able to earn free rewards.  You can bypass this requirement by paying by app by May 2nd and get automatic Gold status, saving you $150 at 2 stars per dollar spent!

For new and current Green members: You will receive Gold Status for one year within 28 hours of your purchase, but any Stars you accumulated at Green level will reset to zero when you receive Gold Status. You’ll need to collect 125 Stars to earn your first Star Reward.

For existing Gold members: You will receive an additional year of Gold Status and your status will be updated after May 2nd.  This offer only applies to members with Gold Status as of April 11th.

The popular program for Star Rewards on grocery store purchases of Starbucks products will also make its way to Canada this summer, so watch for promos on those in the coming months.
