Subway Canada Free Breakfast Day May 31!

subway-sac-300x257

I love free food!  On May 31 you can get a free ham and cheese egg muffin melt and 12oz coffee from participating Subways stores across Canada (excluding Quebec for some reason).  I love that you get a sandwich and a coffee, way to go Subway!!  You can get your free breakfast between 7-10.  Sounds like a great way to start the day.

    wonderful

  2. twinMomma says:

do you require a coupon or walk in?

  3. dandelion says:

I wonder if its still free if you ask for it without the ham. This is great deal but I do not eat meat and have strangely had a hard time in the past with similar deals from other places when asking for them without the meat. Great Deal for sure though!

  4. Pauline says:

I got it without the cheese last time they had a free breakfast special. It was no problem. It was a very well organized lineup of staff looking after all the customers. I was in and out in 5 minutes!

  5. kelly25 says:

We have subways in Quebec too…. :/

  6. Shadyman says:

    @dandelion: I can’t imagine it would be a problem.

@kelly25: Definitely. Quebec doesn’t seem to like freebies/sweepstakes/etc, though 🙁

    @twinMomma: It’s a walk-in.

Quebec has different rules about everything because they have to be different! Contact your provincial government or it will always be like that!

Great thanks for posting. I love me a free breakfast.

    thanks

    Thanks

  11. Jeanna says:

Yeah!!!! I am so happy to get a free breakfast!!
PS: I heard one of the reasons why Quebec is not included in anything because it needs to be in both French and English, which it never is. So Quebec must be excluded from such events.

Thanks 🙂 Sounds great, love their breakfast sandwiches.

  13. kelly25 says:

Ya, it’s a law that everything has to be written in French first. What a piss off :/

  14. Eric says:

The Quebec thing doesn’t have to do with the language. Most contest/giveaways in Canada are detailed in English and French.

In order for sponsor to skip the “void in Quebec” restriction, Quebec sweepstakes law requires that the sponsors must do some or all of the following things:

    – Register the sweepstakes rules and all advertisements used to promote the contest with the Quebec government at least 30 days ahead of the sweepstake’s launch.
    – Pay a fee of up to 10% of the sweepstake’s value, depending on who is allowed to enter.
    – Agree to allow the government of Quebec to mediate any lawsuits arising from the contest.
    – Follow strict guidelines about the contents of the sweepstakes rules.
    – Allow the Quebec government to determine if the sweepstake may be changed or canceled once it has started.
    – File a written report after the contest has concluded, attesting that the prizes have been delivered or attempted to be delivered.
    – Agree to follow a number of other rules and guidelines. See the Quebec Sweepstakes Laws. (http://contests.about.com/gi/o.htm?zi=1/XJ&zTi=1&sdn=contests&cdn=hobbies&tm=104&f=00&tt=12&bt=1&bts=1&zu=http%3A//www.racj.gouv.qc.ca/documents/formulaires/anglais/concours_publicitaire_en.pdf)

It’s extremely stupid, since the rest of Canada is fine with these things. Glad I will never live in Quebec.

  15. Eric says:

ok, the site I posted didn’t seem to work, but I found the info from http://contests.about.com/od/sweepstakes101/f/VoidinQuebec.htm and the Sweepstakes laws from http://bit.ly/morywL

  16. Felix Wilcox says:

Subway did this last year: I went to 4 Subways in Vancouver, all of which had no idea what I was talking about (I even printed the free breakfast coupon).

It was embarrassing, and a waste of my time.

  17. Cheeto says:

I work at Subway and we did this promotion last year, it ran very smoothly. My boss is incredibly cheap so I am sure she would love for people to skip on the meat 😛 You do not need a coupon or anything to go, you just walk right in and order!

  18. mama jill says:

I found the sandwich really gross. I ended up giving it to the dog and I drank the coffee while we went for a walk. I will probably go for the coffee, but skip the sandwich. Just my taste, some people love it.

  19. Myra says:

Would like to try the Breakfast Sub from Subway. Hope this
    freebie is in Canada

  20. IanJ says:

The key word here is “participating Subway stores”.
How many are there, one? or two?
How about publishing which stores are participating so we know where to go?

  21. Louise W says:

Last year the cups for the coffee were really small but some people had bought in a travel mug to use the one I went to you helped yourself to coffee

This is advertised in Quebec, Montreal to be exact. Why would it not be for Quebec? It is not a contest, just a free breakfast.

  24. benji says:

Woke up this morning, excited for my free breakfast…and then realized I got the date wrong…LOL! Guess I’ll eat before I leave the house!!

  25. Marilyn says:

    What’s the catch?

  26. dave says:
