Sorry, one more question. Can I just get the movie ticket for 1/2 but not the food combo or do you have to get both for the ticket to be 1/2 price? Thanks.
@Brock: You have to get both. It’s a combo deal right at the box office; so they’ll print you off a ticket and a food combo slip right there. The slip for the food is usually valid for a week though (double check on yours), so you could always use it later if you’re planning to come back within the week.
@Brock and @Abbyl: actually (at least in Guelph), if you specify you ONLY want the movie ticket, you can get in for $5ish. They don’t advertise this — no signage anywhere — nor can you get this price online, but we’ve done this multiple times in Guelph since the Telus Tuesday promotion started. I you just ask for an adult ticket, you automatically get the deal, so you have to specifically ask for only the half price ticket, no combo. (Going to see Inception tonight for cheap!) Good luck!
AnnV is right, also, to just get the ticket, you would have to line up. Those automated machine don’t have just the adult ticket half priced, only the combo deal.
It really depends on where you are. In Ottawa at least you can purchase tickets half price (without the popcorn/pop) on Tuesdays, online, at the machines, in person, whatever.
It’s not just Telus that does this. Actually this deal has been going on since i was a baby. Guzzo has the same deal.
Just a tip for scene members, 1000 points gets you this deal FREE. 1000 points on any other day is just a free ticket, but today (and any other Tuesday) it is a free ticket, regular popcorn and a regular drink!
By the way, it gets PACKED after about 3 o’clock so earlier shwoings are best.
I got a free showing of Despicable Me with my scene points today, plus popcorn & a drink (which were pretty big!). I went in at 2:15 and it was fairly empty, and when we came out it was incredibly busy.

I actually didn’t know about the deal, we got our tickets from the debit machine and it printed out a drink and popcorn ticket, we were so excited we thought it was an accident that they were printed haha, then read the side of the popcorn bags when we got in the theater…
