Membership costs $10. On the month of your birthday, you can get a free birthday gift worth $10. If the gift costs more, you just pay the difference, so the LYB card pretty much pays for itself on that day, plus you have all the other perks throughout the year.
I just bought the $40 coupon for $20.00….can I purchase the memebership with that & do I have to use the whole $40 in one shot?
maplegirl – The Groupon is not valid towards the LYB card, only products. And I think it also says it must be used in one shot. I’m waiting for Boxing Day to use mine.
@maplegirl: you can’t use part of the Groupon on the membership, and you do have to buy the $40 worth of products in one purchase.
So I was just there today wanting to use my Groupon, and here was what I found out:
They do allow you to use the 20% LYB discount with the Groupon, this means that you can actually get $50 of products for $20 you paid for the Groupon, and taxes are then out of pocket. This includes individual products as well as giftsets. At my store in Limeridge Mall they enter the Groupon as a “gift card” for method of payment, so even though the Groupon should not include taxes, it was used to pay a bit of mine.
In addition to this free candle promo, they also have these peelie cards, I myself got “purchase a gift set and get one free product with less than or equal to the value of the gift set”. The associate tells me the peelies will be around until this weekend.
So with the Groupon, LYB discount, candle promo, and the peelie, I got $83.50 worth of products for only $20, and taxes. I’m a happy camper! =) I do recommend those with a Groupon to use it today, it’s great for getting Christmas gifts for much cheaper. Now I just wish I bought 2 Groupons instead.
my friend got a 50% off card as her “peelie card”. Therefore, her whole purchase, including her gift sets were 50% off. Amazing deal today at Body Shop. + she got the candle!!!
Today is definately the day to go to Body shop! I got the 20% LYB discount, the free candle, a free makeup bag with small size satsuma scrub and wash (free if you buy a gift set of any kind worth $25), then my peelie card revealed 50% off my entire purchase AND I got to use my groupon too. So I ended up paying a grand total including tax of $29 for $158 worth of stuff…unbelievable!

Reply to above post #8 – Groupon was a one day deal (Oct 25) through their website. The Body Shop is handing out the peelie cards at the store for the discount until Nov 21.

Plus I got a free cosmetic bag (contains mini body butter and mini shower gel) with min $25 purchase of gift sets and (Nov 18 only the FREE candle as well)!! They are still selling the Joy to the World cloth bags for $5 and you get 6 weeks of free stuff (no purchase necessary). I bought a bag today and got to use the coupon for this week, a mini butter for free ($8 value). Yippee!
Oops, the Groupon deal for Canada was on Nov 16.
This was an amazing deal. I got a 50% off peely coupon and used my LYB card for an additional 20%… I got 70% off my entire purchase and received 2 free gifts in addition!!

so for $70 worth of items I paid $22.04 including taxes
I bought $133 worth of products for $20 (groupon) + $17.47 = $37.47 ! I got the 50% peely coupon in store. I was a little disappointed that I miscalculated when I was picking out things so I don’t have to spend extra money after my $40 groupon went through. Unfortunately, she rang my groupon through, I asked if I can take something off because I didn’t want to pay $17…she said I couldn’t and could only do a store credit… I haven’t even paid the $17 and asked to remove items, she tells me I can’t because of my groupon… that’s just weird… but whatever ! 133 for $37… good for me !
got 2 gift sets n the $5 reusable bag with free body butter used LYB 20% discount; bygof peelie using groupon voucher; got free candle, 2 free cosmetic bags with satsuma body butter n gel inside, free trail size lip gloss all in over $156 for under $31 tax included! Pretty darn good deal despite of bad weather m road conditions;)

I found that they slipped a little flyer in my shopping bag, it says something along the lines of “biggest offer ever, $175 value, stayed tuned, Nov. 26th only, go early”
