The Home Depot Canada Coupons: Save $10 Off on Purchase of $50 With E-mail Subscription

Generally, I try to limit the amount that I give out my personal e-mail address to retailers. A couple of months ago I noticed just how quickly my inbox would fill up if I didn’t check it for a couple of days when I went away on vacation and decided from then on out to stop (or at least try to stop) giving out my e-mail address. I then heard a wonderful piece of advice from a friend who frequently online shops and was facing a similar problem. She said that instead of giving away her personal address for shopping purposes, she instead created an e-mail address that was solely for the purposes of shopping and online promotions. Thus allowing for her to shop online and be in the know and still have a ‘tidy’ inbox.

This anecdote was a necessary preamble for the deal I’m going to tell you about that the Home Depot Canada is offering right now as it does require you to fork over an e-mail address. When you sign-up for their ‘Moving Emails when you become an e-mail subscriber, you will receive a $10 off coupon for your purchase of $50 or more. This coupon is only valid for in-store purchases, and there is a limit of one coupon per e-mail address. If you were to use your strictly shopping e-mail address for this offer, then you wouldn’t need to worry about clogging up your inbox and you would also still receive the money saving coupon.

I subscribed and received the email from Home Depot but when I clicked on the coupon, there’s no bar code printed on it. Instead in the area where the bar code should be it had an image saying ‘an error has occurred’. Without the bar code the coupon is invalid since the coupon says the cashier has to scan the bar code to activate.

Same issue at Bee. There is no barcode on the coupon

I had the same issue, however I contacted Home Depot customer service and was told I shouldn’t have an issues in store and that they cannot reissue a new one with a barcode as its beyond their limitations. I listen to them and went into Home Depot and made a purchase using the coupon….the cashier had to double check with a supervisor, however they accepted with little/no issues.
