Nice deal! You can scoop yourself up an Asus 10.1 newbook for only $239.99!  My husband actually owns this computer for running a program on one of the machines at his work and he’s been happy with it.  Of course we paid just over 300 for ours!

Not necessarily a great deal right now. Future shop has a 10.1″ acer netbook (AO532H-2806) for $229.99, regular price.

6-cell battery (double the battery life), newer processor (Atom N450).

Windows 7 starter included instead of XP, which is supposed to improve battery life.

Appearance wise, the difference is that the lid is purple. You can pay $40 more for the black version.

Overall…makes this asus deal a pretty terrible one…might be worthwhile if the cost was under $190.

Funny, I have never heard of Asus?

  3. kot says:

They make a lot of motherboards, graphic cards, lcd screens & so on. They are well known for their PC parts. They make less “complete PCs” compared to HP, Dell and company. They focus more on netbooks and higher-end laptops.

  4. Amy says:

Asus was the company that started the whole netbook fad awhile back with their first Eee PC. I think they are based in Taiwan.

This is an amazing netbook. My husband got it last year for >$400. The mainstream stores don’t even carry this amazing brand and netbook. It has ++ battery life and is very convenient for travel etc. It is way better than the HP or Acer ones. you won’t be disappointed. The real gadget geeks use this one. Just my 2 cents. If i needed one, i’d get this, but my husband now wants an ipad as well!

Keep in mind this particular deal comes with Windows XP. Older version.

If you go thru your entertainment book, you save an additional 20$ 🙂

I have an ASUS notebook right now – I love it, but in the past year I’ve had to send it for repairs twice. Their Tech Support has been ridiculously inefficient both times.

  10. harry says:

ASUS has been around for a very long time. To compare other brands such as ACER to it is totally wrong. Acer just won’t go the distance at any price. This is a good deal for a bseline computer that will have a godd useable life to it.

  11. Morgan says:

I have had 3 Acers now on the recommendation of people and they all have given me endless trouble. NO MORE ADVICE

I am going to try ASUS now.
