Mmmmm coffeee.  Right now use coupon code FACEBOOKPERK at checkout at Timothy’s coffee and you can treat yourself to a great BOGO offer.  Buy One pack of K-Cups and you will get  a second pack of Colombian Excelencia for FREE!  Sadly, I don’t have a Keurig  so I can’t take advantage of this offer.  However, I have emailed it to all my Keurig owning friends!  Hope I get a nice cup of coffee when their freebie comes.

Thanks to KathyN for finding and posting this deal!

that code didnt work for me but when u order online its adds a box of decaf coffee for free

  2. kaybee.cook says:

    Hi,
The BOGO is not for Colobian Excelencia k-cups, it is for:
    Decaffeinated Colombian (Coffee K-Cup® Packs)
PRICE: Free QTY: 1 SUB TOTAL: 0.00 CAD

and it is automatic when you purchase kcups… you don’t need the code, it doesn’t work anyway. Pop up text box says “Wrong Promo Code”

  3. Avery says:

Can’t say I’ll be participating in this BOBO offer. Seems a sad attempt to placate those people who signed up to receive their free samples in December. For those who don’t know, they’ve since reneged on their free sample offer even after sending out confirmation that samples were on the way.

  4. Casey says:

Agree with Avery above, the initial offer now seems like a total scam to get us on an email list. And when I tried to unsubscribe to the email list, it says “we are unable to process your request, please try again later”. Not going to give Timothy’s my business with such unethical practices.

  5. Lillian says:

I agree, they expect you to order on line so there will be shipping charges or you need to order enough to avoid shipping charges. we were expecting free samples and now we are expected to place large orders.

  6. kira says:

It’s not working for me 🙁

  7. JimC says:

Agree with Avery and others … I just received an email about this alt. “deal” What a joke! I sent them a nasty-gram response, pointing out that with even with a ‘free’ box, the $7.95 shipping made the per cup cost more than what I routinely pay at COSTCO ie. .53 vs .50 Some promo, NOT!
Van Houtte will be getting my future business.

  8. AnnV says:

As an alternative, this weekend Home Outfitters is offering Buy 4 boxes of K cups, get the 5th Free.

I’m not sure how the regular prices at Home Outfitters compare — I’m a Tassimo girl myself — so this may not be a good deal at all, but I just thought I’d throw it out there…

Clearly, BFGO is not as good a deal as BOGO, but at least it’s something.

  9. Michnty says:

Totally agree with most people above. I signed up on December 17th for the free samples, got a confirmation e-mail stating that they would be shipped out soon and just today (Jan. 17th) received an e-mail stating that they had run out of samples and instead, were offering this BOGO deal to the people who missed out. What a joke…..it was just a way to get all our personal info. and now we can’t even unsubscribe from their e-mail list. Total scam!!!

  10. Casey says:

So if everyone received confirmation of the “free” samples, did ANYONE actually receive them?? Or know of someone who did?? And if I remember correctly, it wasn’t just pumpkin free samples, it was decaf too.

  11. jennyrog says:

If you got the email from Timothy’s with the offer, click on the link in the email to go to the site. The FACEBOOKPERKS code will then work. You will get a free decaf box and a free box of the Columbian Excelencia!

  12. jennyrog says:

There is a thread in the deals forum where a lot of people have posted that they got their free samples:

    http://forum.smartcanucks.ca/266605-timothys-coffee-canada/

  13. jennyrog says:

Sorry, that was FACEBOOKPERK not perks.

  14. Brian says:

Received confirmation email back in December that free samples will soon be sent. Just received the same email about their BOGO offer. Not for me.

  15. CYW95 says:

i wrote back saying I would not be partaking in this excuse for a replacement. Especially since I have seen ads on kijiji for the pumpkin and decaf boxes for sale from people who DID get it for FREE. As someone who truly loves pumpkin coffee, I am disappointed.Th ye should be offering another type, not a buy one get one and then to pay shipping on it as well. Another promo gone wrong ala Zellers.

  16. JimC says:

jennyrog says …”You will get a free decaf box and a free box of the Columbian Excelencia!”

So are you saying you don’t have to buy a box, or you buy one and will get two free? I’m confused. 😉

  17. sreno7 says:

Best Buy and Future Shop had all their K cups on sale. Better deal than Home Outfitters and much better than this offer from Timothy’s that was a sad attempt to both placate and make money off those of us who were promised a free product and then had offer rescinded.

  18. Michelle says:

Code worked for me! I am getting three boxes for the price of one! SCORE!

  19. Tina says:

Still overpriced when you include shipping etc. Besides I will make a point NOT to buy from Timothy’s. Promising free samples, sending a confirmation then backing out on the deal is false advertizing if you ask me. What makes it even more frustrating is that a neighbour that I told about the deal and signed up after me received hers so it wasn’t even first come first served. They seemed to pick at random who received the free promo and who didn’t. I sent Timothy’s a complaint stating that if they wanted my business again then they could send me the free samples, any flavours would do!

If you live in the GTA and are looking for reasonably priced K-cups check out ECS Coffee in Burlington, ON (they also have a website). Regular price is $15.75 for a box of 24 cups taxes included. They regularly have sales as well. I was there last week and they had boxes of 24 on sale for less than $10, again taxes included. Plus if you want to try a variety of flavours before you commit to an entire box, they sell the cups individually or you can mix and match to make your own box of 12 or 24.

  20. Jonathan says:

My 4x boxes of free coffee (24 in each) arrived on Monday 🙂

  21. JimC says:

Michelle … thanks for the additional info; even though I was po’d at the apparent ‘bait n switch’, I am not too proud to pass on a BOG2 free deal; besides I wanted to try the Extra Bold Midnight Magic, that I haven’t seen in retail stores around here, soooooo, now I will.
Just for the record … per portion cost is 36.7cents (includes shipping and tax) so not too shabby for a good cup of coffee.

So dissapointed! Pretty sure I will be “un-liking” them on Facebook

  24. JimC says:

Michelle … thanks for the additional info; even though I am still upset at the apparent ‘bait n switch’; however, I am not too proud to pass on a BOG2 free deal.

Besides I wanted to try the Extra Bold Midnight Magic, that I haven’t seen in retail stores around here, soooooo, now I will.

Just for the record … per portion cost is 36.7cents (includes shipping and tax) so not too shabby for a good cup of coffee.

Note to Moderator: I rewrote my post … I believe I know why you are holding my earlier one in “moderation’. Guess I will know for sure if this one is published immediately. 😉

  25. crystal says:

Emailed timothys.ca letting them know how dissapointed.
    Awaiting reply

  26. Kathy says:

    I received my 2 x24 k-cups on Thursday Jan 12th

  27. michelle says:

jonathan, so you got 3 packs for 1? is that right?

  28. Mandy465 says:

I don’t know why people are so upset about a company running out of freebies, talk about a sense of entitlement! They provided a very good freebie which I received and if I signed up too late and missed it I wouldn’t be upset about it. I’m guessing they used the number of face ook fans they had to estimate how many days to leave the promo going, since it was a Facebook freebie. I’m sure they went expecting it to blow up on this web page

  29. michelle says:

its not a bad deal actually..
altho you are getting 24 decaf .. wish it was “real” coffee but .. still .36 cents a k cup. cant go wrong.

  30. janet says:

boo got my SOL email too
their facebook page is going crazy – somebody pulled a zellers!

apparently some ppl who signed up later seemed to have gotten the freebie, so much for first come first serve

  31. Carlotta says:

I agree with you Mandy…. I don’t understand why people are so upset about not getting something free. If you had paid for a service and you didn’t get it, then you have a right to be upset. If they advertised they were giving away stuff and never gave ANY away, then be upset. But obviously some people got theirs and others were just out of luck this time. It’s not the end of the world. If you can afford a Keurig, you can afford to buy the coffee to go in it.

  32. ryanmike says:

Ok…So I haven’t received the Facebook Freebie yet and received a confirmation on December 17th stating I would….but have not received the email in regards to the new promo….does that mean I will still get the Facebook Freebie?

Mandy465…..If someone from a reputable company emails me and informs me that I am getting 4 boxes of something in the mail and to expect it in the next 2-3 weeks….then I AM entitled to the 4 boxes. My issue is that people that submitted on Dec. 18th. have received the freebie…..a full day after I submitted. So if they were available on Dec. 18 they definitely didn’t run out on Dec. 17th. So your argument about signing up too late is a mute point. I have been “too late” for a number of freebies and I do not feel that I am entitled to them…but when I was too late to sign up for those particular freebies, the company took the page down so that I could not sign up. They never emailed me to tell me that I was receiving the freebie because that company had the common sense to know how many samples they had (like Kelloggs 14,000) and stopped when that particular threshold was met. Timothy’s dropped the ball on this just as Zellers did on their 50% Facebook deal. Shame on them!!!!

  33. Shan says:

I rec’d 4*24 boxes Last Thursday, and my mom got hers this week! I never rec’d this email promo, as they said this would be the alternate for those that did not receive freebie, it wasn’t a scam at all for a mailing list a lot of ppl did receive theirs.

  34. Shan says:

and with this code + free decaf box you are getting your kcups for 0.37 each, beats costco

  35. beenie_jane says:

Mandy465, referring to us having a “sense of entitlement” was unnecessary. Timothy’s actually told us that our free samples were on their way, which is different than signing up “too late”. This is frustrating and we have a right to be feel that way. The company should have kept track of how much they had BEFORE they gave us confirmations of our free samples.

  36. Allaina says:

While I do NOT feel a sense of entitlement, I do feel slightly mifted at Timothy’s promotion to get people to sign up for something they won’t be receiving. If “x” number of freebies were being offered than I feel they should have been able to cut off anyone after said number from signing up. Many other companys do this once their offerings are gone…They should have also.

  37. Jonathan says:

Michelle, yes that is correct. Shipping was to Halifax, NS.
3 boxes for the price of 1 🙂
You’ll need to add the the box of coffee you want, then add the Colombian Excelencia, then go to the Checkout. You’ll see the Columbian Decaf added at $0. Then add FACEBOOKPERK. It should accept the code. Then go back to the Cart and remove the Columbian Excelenia and go back to the Checkout and the Columbian Excelenia will show up for free.

  38. Tom bowen says:

    Timothy’—————you should be ashamed!!!!!!!

  39. Angie says:

Mandy perhaps you should get off your high horse. I was one of the first people to sign up for this supposed freebie, I signed up within hours of them offering it and I NEVER received my free kcups. Easy for you to say all this crap about sense of entitlement and boo hoo to those who signed up late; stop talking out of your arse.

  40. sharp1 says:

Maybe Timothy’s should have been less generous, say one free box per person instead of ticking off hundreds of people with confirmation emails. I actually would have used them unlike some people just selling or bartering with them. Boo to Timothys!

  41. tudorchick says:

i signed up hours after it was live, maybe it was first come first serve, where you live,etc..no idea..i feel bad i have mine now actually,i only signed up for one measely box, unlike the 6 boxes i saw someone trying to sell for money on kijiji today.

  42. mastersaver says:

I bought a keurig machine specifically because my sample was “in the mail” they should have giving out 1 box rather than 4 and been able to 4x the amount of people getting samples. The marketing dept would have to be living under a large rock not to anticipate a HUGE response to 96 free k cups.

Ordered an ekobrew reusable k cup and it is amazing, never going to buy any k cups again! Much beeter than the keurig “my k cup”. Picked up some fresh ground van Houtte’s with a coupon(1/2 lb = $2) and im wayyyy under .37 a cup. Think of the environment too.

  43. chant815 says:

Likewise here. Was looking forward to having this flavour for my Chinese New Years shindig. Ah well, guess it’s back to oldy goldies like French Vanilla, Hot Apple Cider, Iced French Vanilla, and Hot Choco.

  44. Tom bowen says:

    BOYCOTT THE RATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  45. sharp1 says:

Just did a quick search on Kijiji and there are a few ads across Canada. The one that annoys me is the one in Barrie – doesn’t have a machine and has no use for them. To be fair – he/she is only asking $10. Wish those of use who really have a machine could have received them. Oh well.

  46. jones03 says:

It’s really suspicious that I’m not even able to unsubscribe from their mailing list…seems like a cheap attempt to get others’ emails on their part.

  47. Lori says:

I agree with most of the comments above. Got the same message saying it would be shipped soon, only to get the email yesterday about the bogo offer. A really shabby replacement offer and feel that it was only an attempt to get email addresses.

  48. Lizzy says:

I don’t see the offer for the free decaf anymore…I saw it yesterday….and I don’t see an updated amount when I enter in the promo code before I purchase the k-cups…?

  49. janice cochrane says:

Wow… it really was a scam… they had to shut down their facebook page to comments and clean up the backlash… as one customer said…Guess what .. timothy’s has just removed my comment, so here you are one more time … I guess truth hearts

for those who don’t already know, there is no longer a “free decaf on each online order” promo .. as if it wasn’t enough mess up already, even the those who were saying that people should happy about getting 3 boxes for $25 (assuming you live where delivery is minimum) don’t even have a case anymore, the free decaf promo was removed less than 24 hours after the free Excelencia promo was active.

lol, oh man, the amount of bad PR you are reaping right now is unbelievable, I don’t understand how people think that low of themselves that they think its ok for anyone to screw them like that, or perhaps its just because they got their free samples and now they are calling everyone who didn’t “greedy” for just voicing their concerns about not getting one.

For those of you out there aren’t you concerned by:
    – lies being fed to you, and promises being made without any intent of keeping them. ? Lets assume they unintentionally took more orders than stock (give me a break they can just “make” some more), lets assume they unintentionally send automatic confirmations to all submitted orders without checking stock, BUT someone intentionally decided to NOT process orders “first come first served” though that one knew well that not only this is the proper way to do it, but that it is also what they have “officially announced” on this very same page. Someone also “intentionally” decided that now is the proper time to end up the “free decaf on each online order” in face of all the enraged customers.

    – fans being left in the dark from January 4th to Jany 13th, without A SINGLE comment regardless of the raging posts on the wall. Do you think its ok for “potential” paying customers to be treated like that ? even if 90% was only “hit and run” and “use free never buy” customer, how about the remaining 10% who are actually regularly paying for their tims cups.

    – So we ignore the fans for a week or so, and they just don’t go away, lets close the wall and start removing the comments, which country are you operating in exactly ?! and for those who thinks its ok for them to do that, which country do you think you are living in ? its just pathetic.

    – What does “free” has anything to do with it ? Do you think its ok for a retailers to refund you for actual sales without fulfilling your orders after a month of order being placed because “they didn’t anticipate being out of stock” ?! If it were for customers like you Frys would have never honored the Black Friday mess up in 2010 (they have actually worked a deal with manufacturers to be able to stand by the offers that mistakenly appeared on their website), if it were for customers like you HP would have never went to “manufacturer” additional $400 TouchPads to honer the $150 order made after they went out of stock due to a glitch on their Canadian webstore, these retailers never charged any one, credit card authorizations would have fallen off the customer accounts any way after 14 days, YET they stood up to make their own mistakes right.

No thanks for the likes of you who thinks its ok to bend over everyone once in a while for retailers mistakes because at the end of the day “you didn’t lose anything but some of your worthless time”, I am sorry, I know I have earlier stated that I am not going boycott timothy’s but seeing how things are developing then and because I can’t take back my “worthless time” (which I have spend more of it trying to argue with you people than it ever took me to fill that one page form) I just have to take my coffee money elsewhere, and will be make sure (in a direct reply for the information and comments censoring that took place here in the last 24 hours) that my “word of mouth” would spread timothy’s practices on every single community that I am regular in.

Lets see if the way you handled this fiasco will not end up costing you more money in PR than what would you have spent honoring the promo or at least fulfilling it acceptably.

  50. Sheila says:

Okay, I was pretty miffed about this too. Don’t tell people they are getting it if there aren’t enough samples. After reading the replies here I did go and check it out. I added the Italian Blend and another box to my cart. That added the free decaf. When I entered the code the free box of Columbia showed up and deleted the shipping charges. I went back and deleted the second box I had ordered. So I ended up with Italian Blend, Decaffeinated Colombian and Colombian Excelencia with no shipping charges. Total of 72 cups for $17.45 (24 cents a cup). Not as good as 2 boxes totally free with no other purchase but I am happy I don’t have to pay shipping. BOG2free is beating any other site I can find.
Thanks for all the tips above!

  51. JimC says:

Hey Sheila — sounds like you figured out a way, intentional or not, to ‘game’ Timothys out of the shipping charege. Good for you. 😉
I finally decided to go for the “promo” so long as the 2nd free box showed up, which it did after promo code was entered. Unfortunately, the shipping charges remained, but I still went for it. As everyone has said, not great deal vs what was promised, but I cannot find a better price than what amounts to .37 per cup.

  52. Calvin says:

I got the same email yesterday, yet I signed up early like others are reporting.

I tried to unsubscribe as well without luck. My virus/spyware software detects suspicious/malicious cookie activity when I click the links in the email and blocks subsequent IP traffic to their website for my protection… Wish it did that when I initially signed up for the free offer! 🙂

  53. Cathy says:

Just like everyone else I was miffed at not getting the 4 free boxes and a crappy deal making you pay for shipping but after Sheila’s post I went and checked it out and ordered 1 box of Chai Tea and then the decaf showed up and then when I put in the code it added the Columbian and removed the shipping. That works out to a great deal!

  54. teresa says:

I placed my order today using the FACEBOOKPERK promo code and received 2 free boxes (3 in total) plus free shipping. That =’s $17.45 or $0.24 a cup. Excellent deal!

  55. Stephanie says:

I keep adding things to the cart and nothing shows up as free … what am I doing wrong? Also, where do you enter the promo code?

  56. Stephanie says:

Nevermind, I had to make an account for it to work.

  57. JimC says:

anyone know if this deal is limited to ‘one per household, person, etc’ ?
I did NOT get free shipping when I placed my order after getting the famous email, that is referenced in this thread, but the recent comments about the .24 per cup deal, are making be crave …MORE coffee (at that price) 😉

btw Calvin … you comments concerned so I ran the ‘offending email and its links’ by my IT genius son (who is also in the biz), and his analysis didn’t turn up anything unusual. So I dunno what to think about your virus protection software going off like it did?

  58. Sheila says:

Check out their facebook page! There is a video apology from the company. It also says they will be sending out coupons for a free 12cup box to the people that signed up. Not holding my breath, but that would be awesome!

JimC – I tried to order a second time because the first one was such a good deal but it wouldn’t accept my facebookperks code. Sorry. I wasn’t trying to scam them and I really, really hope they all arrive.

  59. Sheila says:

JimC – I was wrong. I just went and tried again and the code still works. 3 boxes $17.45

  60. JimC says:

Sheila … thanks; that is interesting that they are leaving this promo going on for so long, isn’t it?
As an aside, when I placed my order soon after receiving the ‘famous’ alternative promo email, I was charged for shipping on my invoice. After reading comments here and elsewhere that subsequent orders had FREE shipping, I contact Timothys Customer Relations, and to their credit they responded within 24hrs as follows:

    Hi Jim,

Thank you for your order. I have issued a refund to your credit card for the shipping charges on your behalf.

I thought that was pretty decent of them, and will continue to be a customer, which I was before all this promo drama. 😉

  61. DA says:

Just got an e-mail they will be sending me a coupon so we will see if this is more smoke or for real .

  62. stac says:

  63. Lauren says:

We love Timothy’s, I don’t know why there’s so much bad blood here, did anyone realize they were complaining about “Free” product? This promo works and it works well, I actually got a free box of Decaffeinated Colombian and a free box of Colombian Excelencia… ANNNNNND free shipping, I just finished my order: $17.45 CAD for 3 boxes of 24. (Maybe it makes a differance to order the Colombian Excelencia, because that’s our favourite anyway). Can’t wait to get our coffee! 😀

  64. Nora says:

Just got my coupon for a free box of 12 ct box of Kcups. So maybe their intentions were good??

  65. Hayden'sMom says:

Nora: Have you been able to find 12 packs anywhere? I’ve checked all over town and seems 12’s are impossible to find. Makes me wonder if they even make them in 12’s.
