Is it possible to obtain a Toronto library card without living in Toronto?

  3. Jen says:

Kathy, yes you can! 🙂 But you have to either work, go to school or own property in Toronto. Otherwise you’d have to pay a membership fee.

  4. roberta says:

WOW!!! That’s a fantastic freebie!! Thank you 🙂

Correction: The pass for ROM , Ontario Science Center and Casa Loma are available only at select locations on a first come/first served basis. These locations are in economically disadvantaged sections of Toronto and intended (though not explicitly stated) for disadvantaged kids living in those areas. Please leave the passes for people who need them.

GOOD ACTIVITY BY SUN LIFE SCIENCE.

If you cannot prove with a bill/payslip/professional business card (not the laser copier kind) that you work/live in Toronto, you are looking at paying $25 for a three-month use of your card as a non-resident. However, the fee allows you all the borrowing privileges as a regular user. I paid the fee to use the card for the last three months I was working in the city.

I knew the MAP program was offered at certain TPL locations but that it had expanded to all 99 branches. Given the economy, many families appreciate a free outing to some of the venues that could not afford for more than one person if possible.

  8. Ciel says:

I meant to say it is news to me that MAP is now available throughout the TPL system.

Hi, I am a journalist currently working on a story about the MAP program. I am wondering if there is any who wouldn’t mind speaking to me for a few minutes about their experience. Please respond by email at [email protected]

    thanks!
