In Ottawa, Value Village has incraesed their prices quite a bit. For a broken celing lamp – $15. For Rubbermaid tubs – $10. On top of that, they’re customer service has gone to the dumps. We bought a couple of times 2 weeks ago, still had the receipt and all the scan tags on ALL the itmes. They won’t give us anything in return for them.

As of that moment, I will no longer shop at Value Village. To be honest, even for their clothing the prices are going up there. People who can’t afford to shop in the stores, will have to find somewhere else to shop. Even Old Navy is cheaper than VV Boutique on a good day.

It’s becoming a rip off to shop there.

    That’s my 2 cents.

    times = items

    itmes – items

I guess I wrote this in the heat of the moment.

Thats interesting to know, are you sure its not that certain store has a crazy pricer that has no idea how much these items should be going for?

It’s true. I would think a 50% off sale could still yield some good bargains….but they have raised their prices. I’ve been to Value Village’s in North Bay, Ottawa, Barrie…all the same. And such a shame too, because it used to be a great place to shop for cheap clothes and such. You can still get some good deals, but you have to be much more selective.

Thats insane! I have only been in there maybe once or twice so I wouldn’t know for sure, but its really a shame since its second hand items and I thought the point of it all was to keep it on the cheap!

ATTENTION! Don’t donate to Value Village!
    Oh My God!
HAVE YOU EVER NOTICED THAT THEY DON”T MARK DOWN ANY OF THEIR ITEMS?
That’s because if they don’t sell them, they just throw them away!
Value village is crap. The lastest thing that I have found out is what they throw away.
I went for a trip over to my local V.V, and scaled the fence to go in their dumpster “not the donations area”. I actualy found amazingly realy nice stuff. Like brand new stuff, Brand new bottles of parfume, money 2 dollars , jewellery, and good quality baby items. Brand new baby gates,Things still in boxes ,and a mulitude of items people in need could use. My first reaction was Oh hey cool!
Then I realised that they do not mark their prices down, they just throw it away! Yes that’s right!
What kills me is that they had a reccent flyer which claimed that they were Green, It said something like we are environmentaly friendly, This makes me so mad, they claim they are a charity, but they throw away Realy Good stuff someone in need could use.
I also went in their dumpster in 2 different cities in Canada during the New Orleans floods, and thought to myself, They should be soo “F”ing ashamed of themselves for Wasting.
Reccently they have attached a large garbage can to their building, which is not accessible to “US’. I wonder if they are just so greedy that they don’t want any one finding out their Dirty Big secrets. I would compare them to Wal Mart, on how they treat their staff. I once knew a girl who worked there.

    FUMMING MADD in TORONTO!!!

Wake up people, this is not a charity organization, It’s a scam!!

Value Village IS a total rip off…they have doubled their prices on a lot of their toys…for instance, last month things were 1.99….now they are 2.99, and 4.99….for junk! I could buy the same shit on ebay for a cheaper price! And…the stores are filthy.
