Via Rail’s strike is over and they’re ready to get back to work in a big way. To please their customers (or maybe it is to make sure that their employees get put right back to work!) they have extended their 60% off all Canadian fares deadline until Friday. Book by July 31st for travel right up until Dec. 14th, 2009. Some conditions to note; this offer cannot be combined with other discounts or promotions, minimum adult fare is $20.00.

It some rough going, but I was able to buy 4 round trip tickets at 60% off!! This is a significantly better deal than the supersaver fare. I did it right on Sunday when the deal started and really late at night on Tuesday.
Apparently the best way to take advantage of this deal is go to train stations in person. The old fashioned way, face-to-face 😉
I just booked a ticket for October and have searched other dates and trips with no problem. Maybe they have fixed any problems they were having. If you were having trouble I would suggest you try again.
