So XS Cargo is also having a 7 days of web deals! (sorry missed the first couple days, it goes to an email I don’t check often!).  Like other days of web deals we’ve seen, the offer is available for one day only (unless it sells out sooner), and is only available online.   OK so here is today’s deal:

Consumers really have to beware of most products that come from XS Cargo. You can return an item and get the exact same item if it is defective. However you cannot return it for any sort of refund. Even if you have returned the same brand and model 18times before, the will not budge on the refund policy. With this sort of policy in place, I do not shop there anymore nor does anyone else I know.

    2. Chris Penner says:

I agree. I bought an RCA mp3 player there last week, and the FIRST TIME I used it, the thing froze-up on me.
I knew that it was refurbished, but I was wise enough to get the extended warranty. I went in the next day, and I had three options; get another one (why would I want the same piece of junk again?), get something else, or leave with my broken mp3 player and come back when I know what I want to do. They wouldn’t even give me a gift card. I have returned things there three times, and I have noticed that every time they tell me exactly this: “We haven’t had any problems with these”, even when I had returned the same thing twice, so I know that they’re lying. Now I have to either pick up another crappy mp3 player, or find $100.00 of junk I want to exchange it for.

Friends don’t let friends shop at XS Cargo.

    3. Rob Lion says:

Anyone who buys ANYTHING, specially electrical or electronic, from XSCargo is nuts. WAY too many problems. A high percentage of items dont work.
I shopped early for xmas this year and got a camera there. The first day I could return was on the 3rd of Jan(their policy)Unfortunately, by the time I did this I was beyond the 30 day return policy.
NO other options given…nothing…simply no goodbye, get out.

      STAY AWAY LIKE THE PLAGUE

    4. Shopperchick says:

It’s true problems are not uncommon in most of these types of sales and or stores of this nature but, it’s almost always a case of buyer beware isn’t it? no matter where you shop, you must be aware of those possibilities. However sometimes things do work in your favour, my son bought an 8 mega pixel camera 2 years ago and has never had a problem with it. It has worked consistently and properly. So, I guess never say never!!

    5. niggz0r says:

y’all niggz messed up … cry about it and go to walmart where u think they treat u so much better … have fun with paying all those markups and no name brand shit … u guys know nothing, dont get it twisted its luck of the draw … sometimers things are fucked up

    6. Sally says:

I bought stuff there and had zero problems.

    7. MANDY says:

I think that customers should start listening to what the sales associate is telling them as they go through the cash register as well as start reading the signs posted throughout the store. I am a cashier at one of the XS Cargo stores and our return policy is clearly posted in several different areas of the store (example : doors coming into the store as well as leaving the store, at every cash register, as well as down every aisle through out the store). And I know that as a cashier I do state that there is a 30 day exchange policy where there is no refunds given or i let customers know that there item is final sale which means no returns or exchanges. I make sure our customers know of our policy before they purchase their item(s). That way they have the choice of whether or not they want the product they are about to buy.
So for all you complaining customers … start paying attention and maybe you won’t be stuck in the position that you are complaining about.

    8. Susan says:

Read the signs. All sales are final. All the electronics that I have bought them, Junk. They do not work. it is not work the headache. As for Walmart, I love their service. At least, you got someone to talk in customer service. Costco has the best customer service warranty. I buy big price items from Costco. No problems. I have a smile on my face. You pay for what you get. I know that you are on budget, Just shop wisely. Also Zellars is a very good option. Even if you buy cheapiest from Walmart, at least it is new in the box. Do not buy unopened boxes.

Important: Always keep your sale receipts. No recipts. No service. Otherwise, the retailers don’t treat you good.
Superstore is the store from hell.

    9. longboat says:

I wont buy electronics from there anymore. I bought a set of cordless phones from there and they were so staticky. I exchanged them 3 times!!! They were all garbage. I ended up just putting the batteries into my old phone:(

    10. Busch says:

I purchased 3 refurbished DVD players for work and they do not work!! right out of the box the audio and video are out of sync!!! Buyer beware is bull, I bought with Mastercard and will be filing a complaint with them as well as the consumer protection agency. You have a right to expect that a refurbished item works out of the box!!! I will never buy there again, and Mastercard will refund my money under their warranty policy.

    11. Tammy says:

You get what you pay for! I’ve never had any issues with XS Cargo, but I don’t buy things that are refurbished. I laugh at people who complain so much about what they’ve bought, when really it’s you who cheaped out so it’s your own fault if you bought crap.
Also if you actually listen to what the cashiers say they do make it clear what the sales policy is however I’ve learned that very few people seem to comprehend what the words Final Sale mean and if you don’t like it then spend top dollar on items at another store, it’s not like they force you to buy any of their products. I will continue to shop there and everyone I know shops there too, they have great bargains.

    12. Catherine says:

I agree with Mandy. People just don’t read the clearly posted information no matter what store it is. Ignorance is bliss. I used to work at Zellers and the customers are the same there. The policies are not only clearly posted, but also printed on the back of EVERY receipt. But they still complain they didn’t know about the 30 day policy. It doesn’t matter what store/product it is. Customers are not always right. Read what’s posted, ask the cashier, or the people on service desks (they know the policies better than anyone) before you buy a product you’re not sure about! Makes everyone’s lives easier.

    13. Chelsie says:

I also work at XsCargo. I am a supervisior/head cashier. We tell you the policy before you leave the store and post them everywhere so you can hopefully read it. For refurbished products… its not our fault if they dont function they way they are supposed too. XsCargo does not refurbish the products the manufactor does. Please understand and complain to them. When customers come into the store and start yelling at us what are we supposed to do? We do our job and our job is to follow the policy. If you think we love it then your wrong. I would love to have everything work so i dont have to do all the paperwork and testing. Trust me its not fun. When customers gets really angry and from my experience i have had a lady try to hit me with a weed eater. Like come on guys. I have to call the cops many times cause all they do is stand in front of the till and say that they are going to complain to head office, or not going to let the customers through, or complain to the better business bureau. Unfortunutley none of those will work so stop using them. We do our jobs properly so please complain to the manufactor or maybe read some signs before you leave the store

    14. bob smith says:

bought a vaccuum cleaner there got them to plug it in started up got it home no suction wouldnt pick up anything got a violin there got it home no sound from the high string took it to a music store they said the case was worth more than the violin my wife bought me a headphone with built in fm just garbage will never shop ther again

    15. Lisa says:

I bought a juicer there once, for $30 bucks and the same one was selling in Canadian Tire for over $100. It’s been 4 years and it’s still working perfect.

    16. alec says:

how everyone is right about the consumer electronics of xscargo EEK stay far away from them, open the package and try the goods before you buy because they do not stand by that product, any products that use batteries are ones to watch out for especially, of the products we have disscussed with others most of the items have very short battery life, or draw extreme power in short duration,ie.( the polaroid cameras alkaline batteries two days and 10-15 pictures with the flash going not fun when needed. there policy is basically this if the product made one conversation, or took one picture, or play a note, or lit up then it work and you have now a good reason to picket the store front. Or at least photo print all the web complaints and make posters large enough to read from the near by street as to give everyone a good chance.

    17. john says:

Bought a cordless phone, did not work after 3 months, I had the extended warranty for 2 years. The employee suggested a replacement but when he found out that there were no comparable items he suggested a refund. The manager came out t oadvise me that there was nothing he could do since there is a no refund policy and he could not exchange the item for anything else comparable (Item price was 49.99 and the warranty was 9.99). Al he could do is say :”Sorry there is nothing I can do”. THIS PLACE IS A SCAM

    18. Lola says:

I’m just wondering if the people from XS Cargo that were writing reviews here agreed to make a favorable reviews about the store just to save themselves. Well, they should be ashamed on trying to drag more people into this SCAM. There is only one explanation for the Final Sale policy in all products and is that they know how bad their products are, so they expect lots of people complaining for buying things that actually don’t work. Don’t waste your money buying their stuff or you will have to waste your time dealing with them. This place is GARBAGE same as the products they sell.

I’m just surprised how Canadian Consumer Protection Agency hasn’t closed this place.

    19. Chuck says:

I have purchased many items from XS Cargo for my cousin. She is a stroke survivor and unable to go to the store herself.
We have had problems with just about eveything we have purchased there.
However, the most recent has “broken the camel’s back”.
I picked up a cordless phone there which she wanted. However, the phone is very small and she is unable to hold it or use it properly due to her affliction.
I simply wanted to trade the phone in for a different one.
      NO WAY!
Yes, yes, I know the policies. I read the signs. HOWEVER, one would think that they might, just might, make a bit of an exception for someone in this position. She has never set foot in their store because SHE IS UNABLE TO! Therefore, she is unable to see or touch the product until after I have purchased it for her.
My cousin has spent literally hundreds of dollars in this store over the past couple of years and yet they won’t help her out now when all she wants to do is switch the phone for one she can actually use!
I have e-mailed the company but have not heard back as yet.
There is no possible way I will ever shop there again, nor will my cousin, nor anyone else we are able to warn about the place!

    20. Garry Russell says:

BEWARE OF XS CARGO NO RETURNS, NO REFUNDS AND NO EXCHANGE POLICY
last week I purchased and electronic device, took it home to find it did not work the way it was supposed to so, went to return it the following day only to find that it was NON RETURNABLE, NON REFUNDABLE AND NON EXCHANGEABLE! No where on the receipt did it state this nor was I informed as I paid for the item’ These stores are a rip off and should be shut down! One would think the Dept of Consumer Affairs would look into some of these complaints and put them out of business! Unfortunately the poor cashiers get the brunt of the angry, ripped off consumer and should perhaps be looking for employment elsewhere as I see I am not alone with the complaints. All decent businesses handle complaints in order to promote more and better business. Well screw me once shame on me xs cargo but screw me twice, shame on me EX CESSPOOL CARGO. You will never get the chance and everyone I know and talk to will know about this indecent company and perhaps also never be stupid enough to walk through the doors as I was in the past year spending about $400.00 on a lot of junk! Never again!

    21. Mel says:

I bought a refurbished coffee maker, brought it home to find it was filthy! I’m talking used numerous times and never cleaned once.DISGUSTING!!! came back to exchange for a clean one, went through all 10 boxes on the floor to find them all filthy. WTF how can they sell stuff like that and them say we don’t have time to go through every piece of inventory. uh yay that is your job! scammers – should be shut down!

    22. John says:

My house is practically fully furnished with stuff from Xs Cargo, I LOVE that store, i probably spend about $500 there a month, sure i have had problems with some of the things, but usually when i go in for my replacement they work fine. When you buy refurbished products you take a chance, and all you people saying this place should be out of business etc etc, they are a company there to bring deals to you the consumer. They buy from MANUFACTURERS who are the ones who refurbish and guarantee these products will work, don’t get mad at XS Cargo for believing the manufacturer, saying that the item has been fixed. Xs Cargo is a consumer just like you and me, they buy these items from manufacturers and wholesalers all over North America, half the time they might not even see some of the product until they get shipped to there warehouses. They take a chance on product just as you and I do when buying it from them, or Zellers, or Wal-Mart or any Retailer. There is unfortunately always a chance that there is going to be a defect in an item you buy at any store, less of a chance if you buy brand new, but sometimes you never know. If supposedly everything you buy from this company is junk, and you spend X amount of dollars there, WHY DO YOU KEEP GOING BACK? and HOW DO YOU NOT KNOW THE RETURN POLICY? seriously people, one of the first questions i ask when i am about to buy something at a store is the return policy, if you wanna kno…ask? Don’t just assume its whatever YOU feel is right. XS Cargo is a Liquidation store, they have a very fair return policy for that kind of environment, the things they buy depend on the money they make off the products we buy, therefore if people that bought stuff at Xs Cargo could just return an item for the soul fact that they didn’t want it, the company wouldn’t make money and wouldn’t be able to bring deals to customers like us. Sure it would be nice, to be able to exchange for something more useful if your product is defective, but if it isn’t defective, and you just don’t want it, then why did you buy it? or if it was a gift that you got from more then one person, why did you tell half your family and friends you wanted a DVD Recorder for your birthday, odds are decent they aren’t all gonnna talk, and your gonna end up with 2. Don’t give people in the service industry a hard time about there companies policies, the rules aren’t theirs, they didn’t write them, they may not agree with them, but they have to abide buy them, kind of like, THE LAW, not everyone agrees with all of them, but you gotta follow them, or else you wont get very far in life. I’m not telling everyone to go back to XS Cargo and give them another chance, your opinion is your opinion, but as a person that cares about the world, and the economy, bashing this place, trying to get it shut down, isn’t gonna help our unemployment rate, that company employs many people all over Canada, in there stores, and head office.I will constantly be doing my part to keep Canadian Owned business alive to help my country, and all the people in it. All I know, is that i’m going shopping at XS Cargo tomorrow for my New Refurbished 42 inch TV 🙂

    23. sour people says:

      OKAY FOLKS
X is a great Bargin Store. The have great products for a good Deal. But it is a Bargin Store with NO Policy… thats why the shit is cheap.. So for those customes who need to return half the stuff they buy it is definately not your type of store… Dont go there!!! It for those people who are just lookin for a deal and are willing to compromise a little quality for a lower price. For those of you who are complaining about service, its probably because you had attitude when you walked in, and nobody wanted to help you because nobody wants to be around someone who sucks! Trust me it goes for all retail stores, try being a little nicer

    24. B says:

I work at Xs Cargo as a cashier and am not suprised by all the angry customers out there. Believe me we get enough of you!! The thing that amazes me is why you people still come back and shop there after claiming you have wasted hundreds of dollars buying “junk”. If your experiences are so bad why do you keep coming back? Also for those of you that have had bad experiences with refurbished products…well what do u expect when you are paying less then half of the original price you would pay somewhere else. I’m not saying the products don’t work but really do you expect a ten dollar cordless phone to work as well as a phone that is fifty dollars? I would advise that you research your products before you buy them and not give the staff a hard time when you aren’t satisfied with the policy or the product. We just do our jobs and follow our policy!!

    25. Trent says:

I won’t go back there, the store’s policy sucks.

    26. XS Cargo Cashier says:

Read the policies! Listen when the cashiers tell you the policies.

You have no right to complain about this store. If you dont agree with the policy dont shop there. Everyone who shops there has no excuse to no know the policy – it is posted all over the store and told to you when you buy the item.

EXCHANGE FOR THE SAME ITEM ONLY ON ANY DEFECTIVE ITEMS!
NO REFUNDS OR EXCHANGES FOR OTHER ITEMS!
NO EXCHANGES ON ANY FINAL SALE ITEMS; FINAL SALE MEANS NO EXCHANGES, NO REFUNDS, NO SUBSTITUTES, ETC.!!! FINAL SALE= ONCE YOU BOUGHT IT, IT IS YOURS FOREVER.
KEEP YOUR RECEIPTS, how the HELL do you expect us to exchange an item for you when we dont even know that you purchased the item from our store? your receipt is a proof of purchase, without it you could have stole the item, purchased it from another store, etc.
KEEP YOUR RECEIPT OTHERWISE THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WE CAN DO.

The policy is clear. If you do not agree, go shop somewhere else and pay 75% more for the same item. If you understand the policy and are polite we will gladly exchange the defective item with the SAME item. If you are going to yell, stomp your feet, etc. we will ask you to leave the store and we will carry on our day.

Have a good evening and thank you for shopping at XS Cargo 🙂

    27. daniel says:

To consumers… Just be wary … I also have learned the hard way and will never shop there again unless I am willing to part with my money…. or it’s cheap stuff that if it breaks then so be it…. If I buy some junk under 20 bucks so what….

XS Cargo staff are also right it is their policy and they just follow the rules… and agree some will still come back to buy stuff because it is less than half the price….hell a third even or maybe more… I won’t work there though and deal with all that shit…. so my hat’s off to those who toil in the misery of customer complaints day in and day out…. do you guys get a premium in your pay .. I hope so…

So to all consumers… once you buy you can’t return so be very careful with more expensive items (TV, Camera, etc) . Not worth it just go to a reputable store.

XS Cargo just provides that cheap option but you get cheap items at a suckly return policy it is really up to the consumer…. I researched to see if they can be reported as Bad Business Practice from BBB, I guess if they are clear in their policy they can do what they do ….

The only way to shut this company down is from their pockets by not getting any business from people but at that price you will always have people walking through the door…. so consumers… deal with it and just don’t go there unless you know and accept what is being offered… cheap but no returns….

    28. Alex Norbin says:

First of all XS Cargo is THE WORST STORE EVER!!!! And for all of you that work there as cashiers and complain about all the abuse u take should be ur first indication that u work for a horrible company!!! I work for an amazing company that would never let their staff be treated the way ur company treats u….I have never had any one yell or complain about anything simply because we are a reasonable company!!! I couldn’t sleep at night knowing that I worked at a place that rips ppl off!!! Obviously that’s what happens when u don’t graduate from high school….u have to work at places like XS Cargo, nice life!!! If it makes u feel better not giving refunds or exchanhes obviously u need it more than me!! I kinda feel bad for all u XS Cargo employees out there….I’ve made more money in these last three minutes writing this letter than you’ve made ur whole shift today, on top of it all u had to deal with bitches like me!!! I don’t need to complain to BBB or call head office, knowing that u have to wake up each morning and first deal with ur bastard children before work doesn’t suck already….don’t try to deny it, I have been in ur store and seen the kind of ppl that work there, its pretty sad actually!!!

    29. Deutschlander says:

If anyone is thinking of buying the 4gig SD card, avoid! I purchased it today and was looking forward to transferring some songs on it to listen to in the car. As soon as I connected the damn thing, it froze my computer and wouldn’t connect! I will try returning it tomorrow but will bring my laptop with me to test every single one that I exchange. How is plastering a sign justification to knowingly rip people off and sell crap that doesn’t work? Curse them!

    30. Ralph says:

      Hi.
I’ve read through many of the comments posted by those who have shopped at your stores.
As for myself, well… I’ve never shopped at X Cargo. Based on your customer feedback, I would not ever shop at your stores.
As a matter of fact, I feel it would be risky even driving by your stores!
      Shame, Shame, Shame….

    31. saudz says:

I have had a 50-50 experience with them. 50 percent of the time their products work and 50 percent of the time it does not. You have to be really careful of what you purchase from them. If youre purchasing something as a gift for someone XS CARGO is not the place to purchase it from. Their POLICY DOES SUCKS and the CUSTOMER SERVICE IS DISGUSTING and RUDE.

I prefer Superstore for better quality than Walmart for low costing Electronics.(The sell brand names at reasonal cost compare to bestbuy and futureshop. Their selection is not as wide but it works for me) Plus the always have markdowns and instore specials…I bought a 12MP OLYMPIUS CAMERA that was on markdown for $89.99 3 weeks ago.

    32. mark says:

Read the bottom of the flyer…” Refurbished product is product which has been returned. The product was inspected and serviced as necessary and is guaranteed to perform to full manufacturers specifications. Warranties vary per product.”

They printed that it is GUARANTEED, so they had better honour this statement.

    33. Ron says:

Although you can find some incredible deals at XSCargo be very wary if purchasing any electronics from them, and if you do ALWAYS get the extended warranty. I have had two dvd players that failed and thankfully I spent the extra $10 for warranty. The store took them back without any question and I got replacements brand new in box. Remember, if it sounds too good to be true it probably is

    34. Amanda says:

For everyone siding with the store policy, blaming the customers for not informing themselves, I say, if I were buying something out of the back of a white van, I’d expect to be taking chances, but when I purchase items sold out of a registered, licensed business charging tax, I expect to get something that at the very least, powers on. It’s shady, and congrat’s to those who haven’t experienced a problem…YET!

    35. J.S. says:

I’m a discriminating shopper, and sell computer equipment retail to my clients so have a wholesale account at a supplier. I used to manage a department in a medium sized outdoors/surplus store.

XS Cargo is great… if you are paying attention! First of all, the name of the store is A BIG FREAKIN’ CLUE… it’s a store that sells leftovers, okay? Stuff that didn’t make the retail grade. Caveat Emptor = XS.

Don’t buy stuff that isn’t supported by a manufacturer’s warranty, if it’s electronic or has moving parts, or isn’t a recognized name brand. You might as well buy used, in that case.

Don’t buy crappy musical instruments or speakers or telescopes or cameras or mp3 players there. Don’t buy crappy things! Do your research if your purchase is over $50. If you must buy any of that stuff there, TEST it well in-store; check with staff first.

Do buy stuff where malfunction isn’t a risk and a visual inspection suffices. Furniture, blankets, bags, kitchenware, stationery, etc. Name brand stuff in blisterpacks that’s obviously just excess stock and not refurbished. That’s really all it takes to succeed shopping there… I’ve shopped there dozens of times, always satisfied, never had to return anything.

    36. Matt says:

good place to buy tools and non electrical items. Anyways, i bought a tripot from them for my camera but the top removable plate was Cracked! that was the most important part as it attach to the camera. I called the store the guy told me i have if i have 24 hrs to go backt o get it exchange….what the hell? i checked the reciept there is absolutely no info this.

      here is what it shows
      XS cargo- Nothing buy bargains
      Final sale- no refunds
Warranty exchanges require product in original packaging with all original contents, and a valid sales receipt.

It did not mention you only have 24 hrs to get ur bad product exchanged so you better get your ass over here asap haha you are screwed now!

I understand they are a store that you can find an amazing deal BUT they still should put all the info on the receipt so customers know what they are getting into. anyways i am not gonna go back just to change something that cost less then 20bux ….i am just gonna glue the piece back on.

    37. Matt says:

Oh btw, from now on if i go there again im gonna take every apart to make sure it works ok. if employee ask what are u doing i will say UR NO RETURN POLICY SUCKS. I advise you all to do the same. Make a mess if you have to, they will learn eventually.

    38. Jack says:

So I received a present from XS Cargo for Christmas. It was electronics and about 10% cheaper then at other stores. I was weary but it was all my girlfriend could afford. One week after opening it it broke. So nonetheless we take it back with the receipt (this store has a 30 day exchange policy) and hoping for some magic because we were on day 32. Even though this was a Christmas present not opened for the first 20 of it being purchased they wouldn’t budge. Apparently your receipt needs to be stamped ‘christmas gift’. Something that was not offered to my girlfriend…

The part that really gets me is that they have a sign in store referring to a one year manufacturers warranty on the product that is very misleading. It makes you think you have some sort of coverage when there is none. The manager was nothing but manipulative and rude along with all other staff. Needless to say, I think of XS Cargo as a bottom feeder who preys on the wants of cheap or less wealthy individuals.

As for the staff I personally could not go to work and rip people off. I could not have a job where I knew that every second customer is getting a defective piece of junk. I wouldn’t be surprised if “managers” at XS Cargo couldn’t manage their pocket book. Good luck to those who claim how reputable of a place it is.

Beware. This business makes their money off of ripping people off.

    39. Robert Menard says:

I have had the odd thing go bad on me from XS Cargo, and after the thirty day return, I have sent the product back to the manufacturer and it was resolved.. Most electronics from there have a 30 day return policy and a manufacturer’s warranty as well. XS cargo is a retailer, not a repair depot.
I found the manufacturer typically will stand behind their refurbished products.

    40. Grimmy says:

XS cargo stinks, and anyone who works there also stinks, really bad!!

    41. stop being idiots, read the signs, and listen to employees! says:

Hi, i just wanted to say that i have a only been to this store once. The few items i did buy, most electronic, i have not had a problem with. My problem with the place is, i went there on the first day of their flyer, expecting products to be stocked. When i got there at almost 15 minutes after opening, 6 items out of their flyer were sold out they told me. To me that is ridiculous! To all those complaining about there return policy, give it up, they warn you, the signs warn you, and so does their receipt. No one if forcing you to purchase anything, so if you dont like the rules, go somewhere else! LEARN TO READ THE FINE PRINT, and dont be so cheap!

Listen. XS Cargo is a buyer beware store for sure. I’m a supervisor and merchandiser there and I know that some of the policies suck. However, you need to know that we don’t get to make the majority of the decisions on returns etc. Our Head Office DM is the one who makes all of the decisions, and when you complain or send an email to customer service, he’s the guy who ultimately makes the final decision. Unfortunately, most times the customer isn’t thrilled. And most of us who work there do understand. I personally try to do what I can to problem solve when there is some sort of situation. However, I don’t appreciate people coming in, already pissed off, yelling or acting rude like it’s all my fault. I wouldn’t ever dream of going into somebody’s place of work and acting so rudely. This isn’t the best way to go about trying to get somebody to help you out… If somebody comes in and is polite, I will almost always do something to help them out. Even if it is giving a store credit. As far as policies go, some stuff is non returnable, yes. Blankets, towels, dinnerware, etc. Then, some products (mostly electronics) have a 30 day warranty. This covers warranty issues only.. say, it doesn’t work, is cracked, is of poor quality etc. Here we do replace the product with the same one if we have it, up to two times. I do a refund if the product is still not working. If we do not have the same product, we do a store credit or refund. 2 year warranties are the same as 30 days except obviously for much longer. It is called a PRP…. Product Replacement Program.
For people to say that they would deliberately come into our store and mess things up is extremely immature. If you want respect, you have to act like a reasonable adult, not a teenaged primate. Also, please don’t yell, make a scene, etc. People in line will just look at you like you’re crazy, and once you do this, any chance of me sticking my neck out for you is gone.
Like I said, our store is buyer beware, for sure. However, we do have signs all around the store stating our policies. Just like the “Please do not open packages” signs we have deliberately placed at eye level which nobody seems to read either…. And something else. We do have great prices on many items. Not everything we sell is junk. Do your research… nobody at the store is on commission, and we are not going to try to sell you something that you don’t want. Most of us are nice people who are just doing our jobs so please try to respect us. Put yourself in our shoes.
Something I hear every so often is, “I’m never going to shop here again.” It’s so strange how I see those people creeping in a few weeks later, shamefaced, coming to buy something else. We must be a terrible store… haha we are doing great in sales. Sorry but XS Cargo is here for the long haul, there are some hidden treasures for those who care to look.

I dont even know where to start with everyone on this site… well Lets start by saying if someone has to put down a cashier to make her self feel better than we dont want those kind of ppl in the store Mrs Norbin A.K.A The Bitch…. get over your self im sure you only work at wal-mart, for the cashiers, supervisors on this site i just have to say good job for standing up for your self and you all have a ponit, is it there fault that you guys do not listen to what they are telling you??, cause im sure that you dont, I deal with it everyday day the ignorance of people. Lets just think about it for a second these cashiers are the main workers, and for you to come in all angry about something that didnt work and you paid 19.99 for it and right on the recipt is printed in bold black letters NO RETURNS how is that there fault, just tell them you cant read and they will read it for you… However some of you have also said that you feel bad for thoses cashiers having to deal with the angry customers everyday, Lets just be clear and im sure i can speak for most of the managers in the company If anyone, and i mean anyone treats my staff like that you would not have to worry about never shopping here again cause i woiuld kick your ass right out of my store and right back to the curb with your Broken product and tell you to have a nice day!!!!

Now lets talk about the product yes somethings might not work Ive had it happen to me as well get over it and big suprise not only in this store, there is worst things in this world going on than a product that is not working for you, bring it in if it has a 30 Day warranty or a two year (that is a month or 24 for you who cant count ha) this does not mean bring it in and stomp on it or throw it across the store acting like a two yr old.. Do you really think that acting like this is going to get us to return your product come on get a life ppl. You must all be hard up too when your saying this place should be shut down cause they sell crap ha ha, Lets look at this…. Who can answer this question since everyone on here know everything… where does Refurb Products come from ??? Hmmm let me think about this one, oh thats right it came from another store that had it (brand new) never opened you bought it and took it home and guess what it did not work suprise suprise.. So nest time you want to come in and complain about the store or it policy how about you all read and listen to the cashier before you buy it…. Happy shopping

    44. Harve says:

If the comments above are, in fact, from an XS manager, I suggest you take a course in customer relations. Unbelievable! There is an old adage that says “the customer is always right’. Most reputable business use this as the bases for everything they do. Why the “frig” do you think Walmart is so successful.

My experience at the St. John’s location was to say the least satisfactory. And why I gave them the benefit of the doubt on 3 occasions is beyond me. Sucker for punishment, I suppose.

I purchased a 7 piece Comforter set and after 2 months the stitching fell apart and all the “filling” lumped to one side. Prior to that I purchased a Uniden Telephone set that lasted for 1 and a half months and simply quit. Just recently I purchased a Jumbo Universal Remote and it
quit on me after only one week.

I took the remote back to the store and after expressing my displeasure to the cashier was basically told that there was nothing she could do. Tough luck for me. She did give me the email address to customer service, if I wanted to lodge a complaint.

However, after reading the above comment from a XS cargo manager, that would probably be futile.

Of course, with the nature of this business, one would expect to have the occasional product fail but, three different products in a row…there is something wrong here.

After listening to the post on this site, this place should be closed down…for good!

I’ll be following up with the BBB, consumer affairs and the local paper and suggest that anyone of the same mind do the same.

XS Cargo…the bottom of the retail chain.

    45. Xs Cargo Manager says:

Ok. We don’t make the products, we don’t order the products. Purchasing is done by a team of people in the head office who find going out of business sales, closeouts, package changes, etc. Unfortunately, we also don’t make the policies. As far as the BBB goes, our company is not violating any certain rules, etc, as somebody stated above. It is a buyer beware store. This is why our prices are so low. Honestly, people can spend the extra money and go to another store, but many choose not to do so. This is not our problem. We in no way convince people to come in and spend their money, they just do. I would say that we do no more than five to ten returns per week in our store. Our cashiers at the till make sure to state the policies before the customer pays. This way, if you don’t want to take a chance, you put the item back and go somewhere else. You would not believe how many times a person says, “Oh, its cheap enough if it breaks, I’ll just get a new one.” Ironically it is these people who come in complaining the most. What is going to the media going to do? This company isn’t ripping people off. People come here who are looking for bargains. It is a BUYER BEWARE store. There are many great products in our stores, and of course there are the duds. We always try to find some solution to return issues, however, 2 month old bedding, when bought for 30-60$, is probably not going to hold up like a 200$ comforter set. It is people’s own decision to shop here and be informed of the risks and policies. Just ask any sales person and we will let you know about any product. We are not on commission so there is no pressure.
I’d hardly say that we are at the bottom of the retail chain, you might be surprised just how much money we are making. XS Cargo… opening up new stores everyday… 😉

    46. Xs Cargo Manager says:

I would like to just say that I have run many other companys besides this one, so if you are saying that every business should run on customer is always right your worng… So we should be more like Wal mart as everyone is stating ? just return everything cause you dont like it or a comforter set came undone after two month lol well why did you not go buy it at walmart and pay $200 bucks for just the comforter, cause you didnt want to spend the money, so everyones soultion is to try and call the BBB and the media… let me write the speech for you ha ( i went to XS cargo and bought some things at a thrid of the cost cause I didnt want to pay the the big prices at a big box store, I have a Adverstising back ground Harve so you and the rest of the people that think going to the media or BBB is going to fix the problem lol think again, here is an idea when you want to buy something just done shop at xs cargo, but since you wrote that im sure you have been back in the store everyone always comes back with there head down or they send someone in for them lol …

    47. Jon says:

I have nothing but good things to say about XS Cargo. I shop there often. In regards to their return policy, buyer beware. Their return policy (or lack thereof) iss straight forwards and well posted. If the product is broken, or non functional, you get it exchanged within 30, or 7 days. If you didn’t research what you were buying and are not happy with it, but it still works, you are out of luck. Too bad for you. Do your homework. They have outstanding deals on some great products. Since one opened near my home, I have spend close to 1000 dollars there outfitting my home. Electronics, furniture, appliances. All of them work great. Since shopping there, I’ve only had 2 malfunctioning products. One was exchanged. The other was refunded, as the product was not in stock for and exchange. No problems.

What I do have a problem with is how some customers treat the employees when a refund isn’t issued. If they say they cannot give you a refund, that final. It’s store policy. It’s posted in the stores, it’s written on your receipt. Be respectful of the employees and the store policy, do your research on the product you are interested in, and you will have a very pleasant shopping experience.

I would recommend XS Cargo for anyone looking for great deals.

    48. I bought a personal weight scale two weeks ago at XS Cargo. I clearly checked the return policy because I have bought faulty items from them before.

The scale was giving completley different readings on different days. 20kg differences from 1 day to another. I brought it back within the 30 days allowed. The staff member stepped on the scale 3 times and got the same reading. I explained that yes that too has been my experience, however it appeared to be a day to day thing not a minute to minute problem. He said well it looks okay to us, we’ll test it everyday for a week and you can come back in 7 days. If we find it defective then we’ll give you another scale at that time.

Has anyone ever heard of such a ridiculous scam. Why should I have to come back in a week to prove to them that their cheap scale is defective. Their policy clearly stated that they wouldexchange faulty items. I wasn’t asking for a refund, all I expected was for them to honor their own posted policies. I suggest you stay away from this store, they sell junk and don’t back up their products.

    49. thatgengirl says:

I’ve had good and bad experiences with items purchased at XS Cargo and it all comes down to how much you’re willing to pay/lose.

I had cordless phones that lasted a couple of years, a rice cooker that is still going strong 7 years later, a handheld steam gadget that was brand-spanking new and awesome, awesome, awesome, and a computer desk that did the job for over 5 years.

I also have a Shark handheld that came pre-filled with dust (lol). Some iphone accessories that worked, but not as well as a more expensive brand would have, and an iron that wouldn’t stay on longer than 45 secs.

In the end, my life wasn’t made better or worse for any of the purchases and I’m sure as heck not about to start raving on a forum about $5.

    50. lisa says:

hey Harve……..I totally agree with XS Manager “Buyer Beware”, if your to cheap that you have to purchase actual bedding @ XS, perhaps you should take a look at where else you could save the money and buy quality stuff elsewhere. Everyone knows what XS Cargo is all about, and I buy stuff from there quite regularly and have had no issues, I guess I’m one of the lucky ones. If I have an issue, I know it was “disposable” as was your bedding………NEXT

    51. mona says:

the fact that they won’t refund money on items sold at XS Cargo just goes to show that they KNOW everything they sell is crap.
they’re just taking advantage of people during tough economical times and hoping to sucker-in new victims.
anyone who works for that store must have sold their soul to the devil because what kind of person could live with the guilt of continuously disappointing sooo many customers, sooo often, knowingly.
customers may have a 50/50 chance of finding something ok in that store (if you’re lucky), but you’re better off just buying stuff at garage sales and help recycle, at least you know where they live.

    52. Laurie says:

Ok, so I have been reading all the negative comments about electronics, but does anyone have anything to comment on about the furniture. I am looking at purchasing two stools for my bar and a patio set. Just wondering if anyone has purchased furniture and if they had any issues….

      Thanks

    53. T says:

Please everyone DO NOT BUY ANYTHING from this store. I bought some bar stools that didn’t fit together because they weren’t built properly. I’m sure the rest of the ones in the store are the same so now I’m basically F#$@’d.

    54. Daren says:

You may save some money buying from this store but you are gambling with your time and the money you do spend. Is it really worth the headache? If everyone stops shopping there it will force them to close, at least in your area.

Get that Everyone…. The product Comes WITH A MANUAL, maybe you should READ ( i know for most of you its been YEARS) but it actually comes in handy sometimes! You Can READ the Signs that we have Posted And you Can READ what it says on your Reciept, Then you Can UNDERSTAND how your product works, And UNDERSTAND that you Chinced out on your item and if it works for as long as the 30 DAY Warranty then you GOT YOUR MONEYS WORTH! As for the Customers that Actually know what our store is about I THANK YOU for being a LOYAL CUSTOMER, as for the Rest of you F$cking Whinning B&tches F#ck off and go Shop Somewhere Else Then.

    56. Fred says:

They sell garbage and then won’t take it back. Avoid then like a Hatian hooker. Save your money and buy real items from real stores that have an interest in serving you as a customer. These people are the worst bottom feeders you will ever come across. What do you have to do to be a manager at xscargo? Grade 3 edumacashun or just getting off of 3 year parole?

    57. Mike says:

I am not affiliated with XS Cargo, but do sell them merchandise on occasion. I’m not going to slam or defend them, but here is one of the many differences between them and some of the other retailers mentioned here:

When XS Cargo purchases a closeout deal they buy it outright. Beyond that there may be a manufacturers or sellers warranty, but they own the merchandise.

When you go to a store like Wal Mart they are charging you much more because they purchase merchandise from the vendor with the proviso that they will take back anything that a customer wishes to return for any reason and in turn return that to the vendor with no questions asked. The vendor uses a formula to figure out how many items to expect to have returned (defective, unwanted gifts, changed mind) and that is charged on top of the real cost of the item.

When you return merchandise to a store like XS Cargo they have nowhere to return the merchandise to – whereas a store like Wal Mart gives it back to the vendor whether it is defective or not.

Now, most XS items will have a manufacturers warranty, it is just that you will have to send it in to the manufacturer and wait for it to be returned – which takes a lot of time and can be a huge inconvenience.

Simply put – if you want to be able to return merchandise to the store without question then this is not the case with XS. If you want to take the risk and pay a much cheaper (usually) price then you can go there.

    58. Junior says:

      Wow,

That’s one heck of a lot of emotionfrom above posts.
I actually started my XS Cargo adventure roughly 8 years ago purchasing a little fart gag present as well as a drill. The remote fart gift was a real hit at birthday party, whereas the drill was a dude, (no power)

I returned the drill for the same product while being advised by XS employee that the drill I bought was very low end,(good for putting up a few pictures) but for $5 more $19.99 a much superior drill existed.

Being dutch and habitually frugile, I once again left with the lowest end drill carried by a discount store. Guess what, It had power but after a couple of uses the trigger stuck in the on position.

I looked for my receipt but had thrown it out while cleaning my wallet. Nevertheless, I headed back to the store,(it had only been about two weeks with second drill) to try my luck at returning it. Feeling a little sheepish, I gave my story politely to the cashier, (it was not busy so no embarassment for cashier or me)and found that the same fellow I talked to the last time was working.

He remembered me and checked with his manager to see if he could bend the existing policy about having the receipt present. The manager OK’d The return and the employee asked if I wanted the same drill again. I told him that I would definitely buy the better drill this time around.

20 bucks for a drill, still at least a 50% saving from anywhere else and still working to this day. Note, I am not a trades person using said drill 5 days/week

I have since purchased well over $1000 per year at this same store and have had 3 or 4 products each year that need to be returned.

Receipt never an issue anymore as I tape It inside box of whatever I buy and don’t throw out box till warranty expires, (receipts for gifts always put in special shoe/tax box. I do buy the extended plan on some items, ie.home theatres systems and I always talk to the employees I have come to know casually there. It hit me that since they don’t make any sales commissions, they have nothing to gain by lying.

For the trouble of returning a product roughly once every three months or so, I have managed to by interesting XMAS gifts as well as household needs and wants. I guesstimate that I have saved over 5000 dollars since I started shopping at XS Cargo. Add in roughly 25 visits over the years for returns and I still come to the good over 200 dollars per inconvenience.

I have noticed a tightening of policy over the last couple of years and I asked my friendly contacts at my location what was up. They said that as the number of new people coming to the stores increases, the expenses for returned goods, 2 year replacemenmt plan abuse, packages being ripped opened and store demos losing parts .

They told me that the upper management found newer clients were abusing the stores products and concept to the point that higher prices had to be considered. Excess goods at bargain prices is the market niche for this firm so the prices stayed low but policy had to be adjusted to ensure the efficacy of the stores products and the ability of the company to exist. ie The customers have to learn to work with the store, its employees and management if they want to enjoy the deals as much as I obviously do.

New customers welcome to the party, but, if you want to pay the cheapest prices around but expect to have your cake and eat it too
then you don’t belong near any retail motto that says “THE CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS RIGHT”

    59. Sarah says:

I had 3 MP3 players from there one shorted out on my computer and I lost a lot of important documents, the other 2 just stopped working. Almost everypne i talked to has had problems with their products and service, they are very ignorant when you try to bring a defective product back and have no intention of solving the problem. Here in Halifax the XS Cargo even sells items that people brought back!! There are a whole table full of MP3’s that don’t work and they are being sold! Someone needs to take action against them.

    60. XS CARGO INFO 101 says:

Well Folks let me try and explain a little bit of the retail world to all of you misinformed people. First Off most retail chains charge more money to cover the cost of the return policy so companies like XS CARGO can afford to charge less for items than what other company’s charge due to the no return no refund final sale policy so say a 19$ radio at XS Cargo brand new is 45$ at Future Shop. Secondly all refurbished items sold at XS CARGO or any where for that matter must be refurbished to original factory specifications it is not the retailers fault if there is a defect but the manufacturer XS CARGO is purchasing the product in good faith that the company they are purchasing the item from is following the standards. Thirdly any associate who is willing to defend their company or corporation should be given a pat on the back not rudeness from people unknown after all they are only doing their jobs and following their policy’s we all work for someone whether we agree with everything or not! Now for one last closing statement please be nice to the people around you for everyone deserves to be treated with respect.

    61. unhappyclient100 says:

XS Cargo is great for buying non-electronic products or products that do not require a guarantee. You cannot get your money back and some of the companies they represent do not even have a contact number or a customer service department. XS Cargo’s customer service department in Edmonton is ineffective and getting anything out of them is next to impossible.

    62. Informed Consumer says:

For the record, I have purchased numerous items from them, some good and some bad, and I will continue to do so because I like the deals on most items. But always, ALWAYS get the extra warranty on any electronics items.

From the XS Cargo website FAQ section:

“Q. WHAT IS YOUR WARRANTY POLICY?

      A. Some products carry a manufacturer’s or distributors warranty. Other products have a warranty from XS Cargo. Defective items will be replaced with the same item within 30 days of purchase. If the same item is unavailable, a full refund will be issued. 2 and 3 Year Product Protection Plans are available from $3.99. Manufacturers warranties are accompanied by a 7 day xs cargo warranty. The same conditions as the 30 day warranty apply. After 7 days, the customer must deal with the manufacturer / service agent directly. All warranty returns require product in original packaging with all accessories, manuals and a valid sales receipt.”

For heaven’s sake people…learn to read! The company clearly states it’s return policy everywhere! If you buy a refurbished product, opt for the Product Protection Plan. You’re saving enough on your purchase to pay for it and still come out ahead, plus you get an extened product warranty. Not a REFUND, a PRODUCT REPLACEMENT! Same as Future Shop’s plan, no difference except for the cost of the item.

Nothing bothers me more than people who neglect to pay attention to the obvious.

    63. Fancesca says:

I had the most horrible experience with XS Cargo. I went and bought an electric sweeper at the store. The product broke right away before I even had a chance to use it. It was cheaply made. I went back to the store and wanted to return it. I wanted to return it and get a different product. I don’t mind paying a bit more to get a better one. I proceed to the customer service guy and ask if I could do so. He said I’m not allow to exchange for a different product even if I’m willing to pay more. He said it’s in the policy. I ask him, I wasn’t told and it was not on my receipt. I showed him my receipt, he looked at it and didn’t see it either. He then it said it’s written on the back of the store. I then ask him if he could show it to me. I will accept it if it’s written somewhere or someone actually told me this before I bought the product. He couldn’t come up with anything. He then proceed to get a so call “manager”.

Before I could begun to explain what I wanted to do, she wouldn’t let me talk and proceed to raise her voice to “SCREAM AND YELL” at me like I was her worse enemy. I tried to ask her to lower her voice and let me talk since I’m the customer. She didn’t let me finished my sentence before she start again. She even use the “F**K” word with me. I do not swore and I’m starting to get a little choke up and ask her not to swear at me. She continued to do so and once she finished screaming, yelling and swearing at me as to how I’m wrong and she won’t do anything. She left me standing their with my jaw dropped and unable to react and comprehend as to what had just happened. I was left standing alone without any help and a broken product. I was so upset and I don’t like to create a commotion at the store so I went over to another Customer Service Rep to get a new sweeper (same product). Within a week after I have it, the machine broke again. I was too disgust with the store and their business etiquette and so call customer service that I decided not to come back to exchange a broken product and put me through the ordeal again. It’s not worth it. I never wanted to see that lady who call herself a manager at the store nor do I want to have anything to do with the store again. Please reconsider when you go there to buy things from them. The next time you go there. Please consider this. Even if the product is cheaper there do you really want to support a business that swear at you and treated you like their worse enemy when you need them to keep their end of the deal?

I used to work at Xs cargo and I really don’t get people. It is clearly stated what the policy is all over the store and the cashiers are trained to recite this policy every single purchase.” Everything here is a final sale there are no returns or exchanges you will have a 30 day replacement warranty on the toaster to exchange for the exact same item if it’s defective just make sure you hang onto the receipt packaging and accessories” So this gives you the chance to not buy the items if you are unsure of the product or policy. Because everything is a fucking final sale and theres no returns or exchanges , if your not happy with this don’t shop there and don’t come in and fucking complain to the workers. The thing that gets me is when ppl try to return a 40 dollar microwave for example and say ” it doesn’t heat up the food good enough” really did you expect the 40 dollar microwave to work as good as one for 200 dollars? Really get real people. There’s a lot of good deals in the store but again with such low prices don’t expect the products to be perfect. Thank you for shopping at Xs cargo and have a great day:D

They brought me the same one and I plugged it in there at the store. This time it did charge and has been fine now. Hopefully it remains that way.

Today I found out exactly how worthless the extended warranty of XS Cargo is.

Yes they will give you a voucher or a replacement item of same value. And yes they TERMINATE your extended Warranty.

Now if you buy a 3 year warranty – you have spent $30. Plus the cost of your item. If you buy a warranty from the manufacturer not only do you get a replacement BUT the warranty will cover the new item for the balance of the Warranty period still outstanding.

Our refurbished item is the second item we have had to RETURN to XS Cargo in the past 8 months. First one was within 10 days and was not on extended warranty nor out of the 90 days given by the manufacturer on refurbished items. This second item cost more and had a 3 year warranty. It broke in less than 8 months.

I have always believed a warranty on a product was for the entire period and was TRANSFERRED to the replacement item. All GOOD companies provide this type of warranty.

So my recommendation to anyone that buys from XS Cargo – do not buy their warranty – contact manufacturer themselves and get a warranty. They at least won’t TERMINATE the warranty when a problem occurs.

As of right now – I am through buying ANYTHING from XS Cargo. They’ve had two defective products (Computer speakers from Logitech and Quisinart Bread Maker) since November 2010. Far too high a defect rate in my books. Not to mention their warranty isn’t worth the paper its written on.

I bought a universal cell phone charger that said it would work with Samsung phones. It didn’t fit my Samsung phone, so I asked to exchange it for a charger that would work for me or get a store credit. I got neither and I only purchased the item an hour earlier. I didn’t even have to destroy the packaging to test it and the package could easily be returned to the shelf for resale as the packaging was undamaged.

I definitely won’t buy anything from XS Cargo even if they should change their return policy. They practice hit and run. Perhaps they should take a page out of Princess Auto’s policy. They sell everyday tools and mechanical gadgets, often surplus items, for less than Home Depot or Canadian Tire but their motto is “No Sale is final until you are satisfied”. Princess Auto will continue to get my business but XS Cargo will not. I hope those thieves at XS Cargo go under.

    72. Billy D says:

Memarion: Just because XS Cargo has a written and archaic return policy doesn’t make it acceptable. I can’t think of another retailer that has such an awful return/exchange policy. Can you? I have often found more reputable retailers (I think all other retailers are more reputable than XS Cargo)that offer similar items at prices that are about the same or lower than XS Cargo and have a good return policy. The best thing for people to do if they find XS Cargo’s policy unacceptable is to take their business elsewhere, as I will from this day forward.

    73. Craig says:

I don’t get why they are so stupid. The reason that most retail stores let you return defective products is so that they keep your business, and they keep an okay reputation.

XS Cargo was so greedy today in that they wouldn’t take back a defective product (the nextbook for $128). They want to keep that $30 profit, but will lose it as I won’t ever be back, and I will tell other people about them.

Isn’t that just bad business sense?

Also, does anyone have a successful strategy for returning items to them? Should I keep bringing it back to different people. I don’t want an exchange (which they didn’t offer anyways), I want my refund.

    74. I’d should check with you here. Which is not something I usually do! I take pleasure in reading a publish that can make people think. Additionally, thanks for allowing me to comment!

    75. Kerry says:

XS Cargo is like any discount store they buy cheap stuff and sell it cheap it’s the volume they’re interested in, I’ve bought some stuff there most is third rate which is to be expected and I’ve a couple of items (a DVR & digital camera) that have worked really well but that’s just luck of the draw I think. What gets me is their my way or the highway attitude towards toward their customers, there was no reasoning with their manager in the Halifax NS store all I got when I tried to explain my problem was you don’t you don’t like it you can leave. Now I may be a little old fashioned but it seems reasonable to assume that if you want a customer to return to your store you treat them with respect and listen to what they have to say both good and bad and use any feedback to help you make a shopping experience better for them and others, but not XS Cargo it seems. Anyway I left the store that day and have never been back that was almost 2 years ago, not that I was their greatest customer but I used to go there 2-3 times a month and spend an average of 30 dollars per trip not a huge amount by retail standards but now it’s going into someone else’s pocket now not theirs.

    77. Hey Craig says:

“I don’t get why they are so stupid.”

“I don’t want an exchange (which they didn’t offer anyways), I want my refund.”

How can you be so stupid? Their policy is no refunds. No means no.

Most of the complaints here are from whiners. I’m not saying XS Cargo is great, but some people here complain about the return policy, which they failed to read or to comprehend. Other have validly complained that their merchandise is junk, and I’m sure some/a lot of it is, so buyer beware.

    79. joe says:

SSOB OGRAC SX and Memarion are perfect examples of the idiots that they hire at xs cargo. I repeat do not waste your money, stay clear of any xs cargo store. There merchandise and there employees suck big time.

    80. Karen says:

If you do not like a stores policy DO NOT SHOP THERE. Why do some people think a policy (rules) change for them? The people who work there are employees paid by XS Cargo, yes they have to do what their boss says just like you. I have seen some customers trying to return stuff for their money back. When they are told no there is no refunds they freak out on these people trying to earn a living. Honestly the person your yelling at DID NOT MAKE THE POLICY. You can discuss a certain situation to the head office at [email protected]. The final say is with them. I would report any inappropriate behavior/language from employees to them as well.

    81. Sarah says:

One person said it best, when you buy refurbished you expect it to work. I don’t care that it’s refurbished, that’s no excuse to sell me garbage. I bought a playstation 2 refurbished 17 years ago NOT FROM XSCARGO and it still works. I bought a 19″ TV from XS and it never worked properly, I exchanged it twice. I finally exchanged it for $130 worth of candles and shampoo and bought my 19″ from walmart for the same price.

    82. Don says:

I can understand there are scammers out there in this world that buy stuff at stores and return it once it was used. However the biggest scammer here is XS Cargo and their return policy. They have this policy because they don’t believe in costumer loyalty.I once bought an item and tried to return it the next day with the box still factory sealed with receipt and a rude manager told me I was out of luck. This was an unneeded gift. Stores like this have no place in Canada. My advise, don’t shop there it is all crap that you can’t return and let them go bankrupt. I am just surprised with all the complaints I read on the web that the BBB doesn’t get involved. I guess from no on one must not only research the products but the store thats selling it.

    83. Tim Jones says:

I was just freshly burned by this outfit this week. My Dad pointed the place out to me so I bought a couple of items. The coffee maker has worked so far the first week but the vacuum cleaner doesn’t plug into the wall. It’s probably designed for the Bolivian market or something. Useless in Canada. And to think I even bought their crappy two year store warranty, lol. Yes they got over good on me. And being on a fixed disability income it really stings.

Congratulations XS Cargo! You beat me this time. I’ll buy from the drug addicts at the Ivanhoe Hotel next time. At least they have a little integrity.

    84. Tim Jones says:

      ^ ^ ^ ^ ^
They quickly and politely resolved the problem with the vacuum cleaner at the store no questions asked. Disregard my earlier comment. I obviously didn’t give them a chance before assuming the worst..

    85. Courtney says:

I am one of the recent customers to XS Cargo and I am VERY displeased. Not only do the universal remotes, or computer mice NOT work, but the employee’s customer-relation skills are disgusting! I am extremely unimpressed with their inability to handle things maturely. I have spent at least 20 dollars on remotes that do not work and due to the “no return – exchange only” policy, I have lost all my money. The first universal remote cost around 8.99, and when I took it home it did not even turn on. The lights blinked off and on, and I could not get it to program to any TV in the house. I was not told that there was no return policy, nor that there was only an exchange one. There is only one sign I noticed posted in our location, and that is in the back of the store. I followed all instructions thoroughly, and went back to return it. Needless to say I had to verbally argue with the manager, even though the remote was proven to be faulty. Maturity level was definitely at an all time low. He brought a second one over, but it was more expensive and I would have to pay 3 dollars more. Thinking it was me, I was stupid enough to buy another. Once this one was home, it worked for about a week. I thought at first my batteries were low, but once replaced I quickly realized it was the remote. I never returned this one. Today I bought another remote that retailed at 5.99 +tax, brought it home and to my despair this one did not work as well. I am sick of the shit-ass service provided, and the ATROCIOUS exchange policy. Why even have one if it’s non applicable to everything in the store? NOT IMPRESSED. DO NOT SHOP HERE PEOPLE!
