Thanks to Bon62 for reminding us in the anadian Shopping Deals and Flyers Forum that Zellers is offering 100 bonus HBC points when you bring your own re-usable bag!
Let’s all keep doing our part to help the environment! A small reward for being more “green” works for me 🙂
just like No Frills… good to know they’re doing it now. I’ll bear in mind to ask for those points when I shop there
I reminded a zellers cashier of this promo and she said it’s only if you use the HBC branded reusable bags.
They’ve been doing it for a while. It’s any bag, HBC or not, Plastic or cloth.
I have gotten this promo before, but I find you need to remind the cashier about it.
It is for any reusable bag, not just the ones sold at Zellers. The cashier is mistaken, unless that store has its own policy, which would surprise me. If you do buy a reusable HBC bag, you will also earn 1000 points for the purchase. I have seen 4 different varieties of reusable bags at my local Zellers. I posted on this in the thread and did some calculations. In August I earned 1000 points and July, 1400 points just from using reusable bags.
Forgot to add… you can see your points for the reusable bags on your hbc rewards statements. It really does add up, so definitely worthwhile bringing your own bag(s) for the points — as well as the environment.
why did she say only HBC bags? that’s a lie i use my PC bags all the time.
yet another uninformed cashier.
I used a generic reusable bag yesterday and got the bonus points. That cashier was just plain mean or uninformed.
How do you get the cashiers to credit the points? Do they have to scan anything? I have never received the bonus points when using my resuable bags.
I became aware of this just recently.I noticed I had not been credited 100 pts at zellers,so I went to customer service. They didn’t seem to know about it either, until one the cashiers, confirmed it and credited my acct.with my pts.
When I worked there right up to the last day, I would ALWAYS give people the bonus points.. and sometimes if the customer was polite I would do it twice! It pays to be nice to your cashier.
