Zellers Canada: 2 Wii Games for $40 is a PRICING ERROR

Thanks Leslie for pointing this out:

I just found out that this is an error after going to two stores to stock up for the price adjustment- they already have the little signs in the stores with the correction notice. It’s lame: the correction notice says that the sale is actually just for Zelda $40 for Wii and Gamecube- I dont know how they could make such a big mistake (trying to suck people into the store?)

It’s unfortunate that this is a pricing error 🙁 HBC headquarters sent out letters to all Zellers stores notifying them of the pricing error so don’t even bother trying.

Our only hope of getting this deal is through price matching 😉 Wake up nice and early on Saturday, grab a copy of Zellers flyer, go to Future Shop and ask them to price match the Zellers’ offer. If it doesn’t work (because they phone Zellers) go to Best Buy, and so on. This may or may not work and the ethics behind doing this is questionable.

Bummer. So can I get two copies of the Wii Zelda? My boyfriend and I would each love a copy. Anyone know?

  3. Leslie says:

According to the correction notice, it was just *one* Zelda for $40- not a 2-for deal.

    Ah, thanks, Leslie!

I’m so going to Best Buy with the Zellers flyer to price match these games – and as for the “This may or may not work and the ethics behind doing this is questionable.” when it comes to taking a few dollars away from billion dollar companies – I quite frankly could care less!

i use to work for zellers and this has been going on for years
they should let them go at that price. saves lots of headaches.

Zellers is a joke, they knowingly abuse advertising, and try to lure customers in by false advertising.
2 weeks ago when they had the 50% off select toys, in limited quanities, I went there and they didn’t have the toy. I know what limited quanitities means, BUT, the manager said they had the items in the back, but they were too high on a skid, and they wouldn’t be giving rain checks.
