As we heard earlier this year, Zellers will be closing their doors and will be replaced by the US retail giant – Target. Target or Tar -Zhay as Oprah calls it, has announced their first 24 locations in Canada.
Zellers has started offering massive blowout sales both in their liquidation stores as well as all their other stores. To see all the liquidation stores, visit Zeller’s liquidation site.
Liquidation stores have a new store policies in place so be sure to ask about them before making your final purchase.
Happy Shopping!
I finally visited my nearest Luiquidation Centre (in a depressing-at-the-best-of-times Zellers, but which had lovely, helpful staff), to find the place even more depressing than before. The announced 80% off lowest ticketed prices were hard to find. almost everything was 50% off THE REGULAR PRICE. Food was 20%off the regular price, less of a discount than was often available in normal times. And the merchandise did not seem to be moving. It was awful!!!!!!!!
Keep an eye out as Zellers is getting merch from the Bay. Expensive yes, but if you enjoy shopping at the Bay you may find a deal closer to the Liquidation stores closing up shop. Also, don’t expect a huge price drop as they marked items up in price before the sale started.
Keep in mind as well that the Liquidation stores DO NOT take part in the regular Zellers flyer. There are also NO returns so buyer beware. Especially if you are buying electronics and such.
I was told it was going to 70% off, but either way, that’s great.
I got nice shoes for $7.50 (originally $40), a Bay tanktop for $5, some badass pants for $15, all in a regular (non liquidation) store. There were beautiful dresses for $10 but I had to hightail it out of there before I went broke.
