Amazon.ca’s Kindle Series is comprise some of the best e-readers on the market, and with over 3.1 million books in their library, you will have access to one of the largest digital libraries at the palm of your hands. The Kindle, the standard and most recent addition, is currently being sold on Amazon.ca for a shockingly low price of $64, though it normally sells for close to $80.

The new Kindle also features some great new technologic additions that will excel your virtual reading experience, specifically the touchscreen feature that enables you to use the dictionary look up feature seamlessly, highlight, and use the X-ray tool. X-ray is a tool that is unique to Amazon, where you can literally look through the historical and literary ‘bones’ of the book to view similar themes, words and ideas used throughout the book. Plus, the Kindle only weighs 191 grams and measures about 6″ in Pearl e-paper technology for its display (which will work to prevent screen glare – even in direct sunlight!)

The second Kindle sale that Amazon.ca is offering is on the newest addition to the Kindle Series, and that’s on the Kindle Paperwhite Touch Screen which is now being sold for $119 (regularly $139). Unlike back-lit tablets, this e-reader won’t strain your eyes as it forces your eyes to look at the surface through its Paperwhite technology. Additionally, a charge on this e-reader will last you on average for 8 weeks, unlike most tablets which die after only a few days.

One of the many new features to the Kindle Paperwhite e-reader – that I thought was a really neat add-on – is the Vocabulary Builder which allows you to store new words that you may not know already, and to look back at those words later and play interactive games to quiz your knowledge. For those of you who thought technology was making us lazier, this latest development is surely trying to reverse that stereotype!
