Best Buy Canada: Rock Band The Beatles Special Value Edition Less than $80 Including Taxes

Rockband Canada The Beatles

Thanks mumblebee for suggesting this Rock Band The Beatles Special Value Edition deal!

Beatles rockband special value edition is selling at Best buy for $160, plus tax (for the Xbox 360 I know of), but on, they’re selling for $79.98 plus free shipping, so if you take it to Best Buy Canada and have them do a price match, plus beat it by 10%, you can get the beatles rockband (drums, guitar, microphone and beatles games) for less than $80 after tax compared to $182.00

I checked Best Buy Canada and and mumblebee is absolutely right! In fact I found this would also apply to the Nintendo Wii and Playstation 3 versions of Rock Band The Beatles Special Value Edition as well as the Xbox360 😀

    Two points:

Best Buy’s policy (in their B&M stores) will price match it, ONLY after factoring in priority/overnight delivery costs from Amazon into the price. So be sure and add $13 to the $79.98 before calculating your price adjustments. — this brings the Best Buy price to almost $100 after tax.

I’m not criticizing the deal, but that should be taken into consideration before rushing into the Best Buy store… Buying it directly from amazon using Free Super Saver Shipping makes it making the deal ($90 tax in) a pretty sweet in and of itself.

In either case, getting the entire kit for <$100 tax-in is still sweet. Just depends on how quickly you want it.

Additionally; Best Buy’s policy only applies to items available and instock from their competitor, and the Wii version is listed on as “currently unavailable”

I just purchased Playstation 3 and am a rookie so can anyone tell me if this set comes with the microphone and instruments?

bhlombardy: when i PM’ed a newegg deal they didn’t factor priority shipping (they did however try to factor restocking fee until a manager corrected them). Is it a policy specific to amazon? Perhaps they’re just not well trained in PM policy.

  4. BHLombardy says:

It’s been a Best Buy and FutureShop policy all along. At the time you PM’d the newegg deal, it sounds like the Best Buy clerk wasnt aware of how to do it properly, as he wanted to charge the restock fee. I have seen the policy of S&H in print at some point along the way, but I cant validate that.

Jaybank45: This kit being advertised is a complete band kit.

Inlcudes a drum set, guitar, microphone, USB hub, and game software.

BE WARNED! This bundle includes the instruments from the original Rock Band… hence ‘Special Value Bundle’. The Premium Bundle is the one with the Beatles-themed instruments.

  7. missbobloblaw says:

These have been discontinued by the manufacturer. Also has no more of these bundles for Wii.

  8. mumblebee says:

There is no shipping fee.. Because it qualifies for free shipping, I just printed out the ad, brought it to best buy. They did all the math and everything, so it ended up being %71 for the game, after their 10% price match guarantee (79.98-9.00=$70.98), then plus tax it was $79 something..

its a great deal if the recipient of the game doesnt care much about whether its a beatles themed instrument or not.

i’ve called best buy before to ask if they PM from but they dont…!

I think there is very little clarity on the store policy to the employees. It appears as though they’ve all been told (or not told) and instructed (or not instructed) what they should be charged for.
As I said in my original post, I’m not putting down the deal, it is a great deal anyway you slice it. It’s just that some Best Buy stores dont practise the same policies as the OP has experienced.

Just want to point out, Best Buy / Futureshop’s policy isn’t to beat the competition’s price by 10%, it’s that they’ll give you 10% of the difference between their price and the competition.

  12. sniperc151 says:

This week you can price match this product from futureshop… Futureshop has it on sale for 99.99, price match, and it brings it down to 94 plus tax.

  13. Laura says:

the rockband one for wii not the premium one for the beatles at future shop is priced at 119.99$ on their website…but the premium one for beatles on best buy is all sold out…but I couldn’t find the premium on for the beatles on future shop…for wii

Thank you Thank you Thank you. Bought this a week ago. Took the amazon ad in for price match and they credited me $88 no questions asked even had a managers approval and when I bought it last week I used the $10 off coupon so really it only cost $67 including tax. What a smokin deal. Thanks.

Ya Id honestly go in and try your luck, most often when you call they don’t really care.

  16. brilliantblond says:

When you add the product to your inbasket and print out the checkout page it doesn’t distinguish between xbox or wii. Hope that helps.

    Annchan, that is the page..

Goodluck beating the Christmas rush everyone!!

I’ve just done tons of research on the various types of Rock Band (xbox 360)- just so you know this has the Rock Band 1 instruments, not Rock Band 2. I’ve been advised to go with Rock Band 2 instruments, apparently the guitar is much better and so are the drums.

  19. Annchan says:

I went yesterday and while they were in fact able to honor this promotion, what Natalka says is true. This box comes with the old instruments. After returning everything back to best buy we went to EB and bought rock band 2 with all the goods for only $99 (it was about a $20 difference) and have the better instruments.
Rock band 1 drums are not very good. The guitar in rock band 2 is also better but I never had a real issue with mine.
