The Government of Ontario’s Consumer Protection Branch publishes the free 2008 Smart Consumer Calendar, with tips keep you safe from fraud, scams, ID theft, counterfeiting and more to help you be a better, safer consumer. Available in November, orders are being taken now.
The calendar is free and is available in English and French.
Order a calendar by calling toll free at 1-800-668-9938 (or 1-800-268-7095). In the Toronto area call 416-326-5300.
You can also click here to order the free Smart Consumer Calendar online. Be sure to search for “2008 Smart Consumer Calendar†or search for publication number 007928. However, this process is a bit slow and you have to register before ordering.
The 2008 Smart Consumer calendar has:

- the best ways to purchase and insure your automobile
- everything you need to know about fake charities
- what to do to prevent I.D. theft and telemarketing fraud
- what to look for so you don’t become a victim of counterfeiting
