This is a cool coupon – you choose either chocolate cheerios or Fibre1 (brown sugar) shredded wheat. They only come in one size box and I noticed that Superstore (Winnipeg) has both of these cereals specially priced the same this week at 3.47.
Has anyone tried either of these before? Any recommendations? I’m not into sugared cereal, and haven’t had shredded wheat in many years (didn’t like it then, but thought it could be mixed in with other cereal or as a snack mix).
@ Ruth-Ann – I tried the Chocolate Cheerios (they were giving out samples at Walmart). It reminded me of cocoa puffs. I like sugary cereals, so I thought it was yummY 🙂
I don’t think I will try the Chocolate Cheerios but I will try to find the other free box stated on the coupon, it is the Fibre1 Brown Sugar Shredded Wheat. I love regular shredded wheat so hope this one is just as good!

Well the nutritionist in me feels that it is worth mentioning that:
Spoon per spoon the Chocolate Cheerios contain identical amounts of sugar, 17% more calories, 40% more sodium, and 11% less fibre than Froot Loops, a cereal no one in their right mind would describe as “healthy”.
Sounds like a good SNACK and not a breakfast cereal (maybe along with high fibre toast and fruit!)

Yeah going tomorrow to walt mart the one stores in my sity that carry the cherrios…and for a comment earlier…the nesquik cereal cacao puff is the same taste and it’s good so each person as is taste…got 4 coupons to pass wohho…excited

The coupon is soooo weird though, mine says it expires on July 4, 2011 but it’s only good for one day. A bit misleading. But going to use it tomorrow to be safe…

I am planning a whole freebie event with this coupon. I’ve been saving some FPC from cereal boxes and a few B1G1 coupons and hope to get a decent mixture of food for next to nothing! I’ve scouted our area and Walmary, Food Basics, Real Canadian Superstore all stock the chocolate cheerios. I’ve been waiting to try it for free rather than buying a box. Good luck to everyone in finding their box if you were fortunate enough to get a coupon!

With the promo at Longos I would be surprised if they would combine the promo as you are not paying for the cereal. Be prepared for refusal!!!

I’m in BC too and I’ve seen both cereals on the coupon at Superstore but in their specials areas not the cereal aisle.
If you dont plan on using your coupon or eating that type of cereal.. how about picking up a box and dropping it in one of those donation boxes? Im sure a little boy or girl would love chocolate cheerios vs the NoName Stale stuff they probably usually get? (If they even get cereal)

A lot of them display at Save on Food (in Richmond, BC store) at the entrance area, looks like they have a promotion going on this week. At least 50+ boxes.
I tried them at Metro on the weekend. I couldn’t even finish the little sample they gave me! Very artificial tasting and really gross.

I had the free choco cheerios coupon from save.ca and used it at walmart on saturday the 18th.So I don’t really think it matters.if you can get away with it give it a try?lol

First off there were two seperate promotions for this freebie.. one from websaver and the other from the royal wedding promotion so us :pigs: got them fairly!! secondly there were tons of FPC on listia for auction and I ended up with 2 more coupons!! So this “pig” will have four boxes for my piglet children!! Thanks for your snide remarks!!

the coupon is misleading because I think it was suppose they were suppose to release the boxes on June 21st. but I have seen them at save on foods since Yesterday…

Got mine this morning! The Sobeys I went to had a ton of boxes. I mentioned to the cashier that he should expect a lot of those coupons today and he told me he wasn’t even sure he was supposed to accept it. I asked why and he said they aren’t supposed to take internet coupons??? It’s not an internet coupon, it’s a real coupon mailed to me? Not sure if he had his terminology wrong or if they’ve changed their coupon policy.
Is Chocolate Cheerios really what we should be encouraging the impovrished to be eating? I’m sure their diet is unhealthy enough without giving them chocolate sugar cereal!
Got mine this morning at Walmart – the cashier told me that the store manager said it was limit one per person. I had 2. I had to leave one box behind. I went first thing this morning as well. Anyone else have this issue?
I went to Metro and the cashier won’t accept the coupon saying it’s an internet coupon. I told her that it’s legit and the back of the coupon has security features, still no go. Does anyone know where I can find the chocolate cherios? Can’t find them in any stores.

Got my Fibre 1 Brown Sugar this aft at Valu-Mart. It was on sale for $2.99. Also got Great Grain at 50% off and used my $.75 coupon. I have a ton of cereal after all the free ice cream coupons, T-shirt giveaways, granola bar freebies and now this!
Picked up 5 boxes today…mine, my MIL, my mom, and my 2 aunts’ (we live in a rural area and I was elected to go into town to pick them up). Cashier at Walmart had no problems with running it all through in 1 transaction. I think I’ll mix my chocolate Cheerios 1/2 and 1/2 with regular Cheerios.

I just got mine at the No Frills at Gerrard and Coxwell in Toronto with no problem. They didn’t have very many boxes left on the shelves though, so move fast!
yeah…i went in the morning and a lot were gone. My store already had a sale on them so the supply wasn’t good anyways. GOT MINE!
Gave my coupon to my dad, as he was heading to the grocery store. He came back with Fibre 1??!! I thought that this coupon was specific to Choco Cheerios.

Well…not impressed with those people who got more than one of this offer! I had to go to four stores before I found the cereal – and then it was the Fibre One only. Everytime there is a good offer every store in my town gets completely cleared out before 9am on Friday! It is getting a little frustrating 🙁
i went to my superstore to get it where i have seen it in large quantities all of last week and this weekend and when i went this morning to grab it there wasnt a single one left anywhere …. and the fibre 1 was hidden in a random area.

Brockville Walmart, no go for the Chocolate Cheerios, lots of Fibre One. Went to Brockville’s Superstore and they had lots of both! Huge display. Used lots of different free product coupons without problem at both stores. A little disappointed with Walmart though, there was a huge display last weekend and not a box to be found today before 9 a.m.!
I work 12 hour night shifts. I tried Shopper drugmart this morning when I got off of work (the only store opened at that time of the day). They didn’t have either cereal. I might just ask my co-workers if they would like the coupon when I get in this evening. :-S
I’ve seen them readily available since last Friday at Walmart, Save On Foods and Real Canadian Superstore over on the Westcoast (North Vancouver, Burnaby and Coquitlam).
I picked up my box today, along with my free Nesquik and a few other things and was scolded by the cashier, saying that I shouldn’t be feeding this “crap” to my children and that the sugar alone would kill them—I was by myself by the way, no children tagging along. She then went on to tell me how she can’t stand parents who treat their children like garbage disposals.
I was ready to punch her…

I went to No frills, Zellers in the aftn and it’s alrdy out of stock. Then I called Metro first to make sure they still have it and someone told me they still have a lot of it. So I even took the bus to Metro and just to know they won’t accept the coupon !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just picked mine up at food basics in scar, and they had lots in stock. both cheerios and fibre 1 were pretty stocked up. grocery guy said it’s been out for about 2 weeks now.
they are yummy, not too sugary coming and i dont have a sweet tooth.
apparently it’s made from real cocoa … so doesnt taste too artificial.
It may not be sold out . Extra Foods Melville Sk will take off the shelf some thing that is on sale and has a good coupon . You go in the next day after the sale is over or the coupon is done and the shelf is full. Today to save time I went to the COOP and had no problems .

I checked the cereal aisle and didn’t find either of the cereals listed on the coupon, so I was pretty bummed (because I checked Superstore and Zellers before too and none as well). But then I went to go get milk at the very end of the store and all the Chocolate Cheerios were there on a special display! Tons left, probably because not many people walk to the last aisle to check for cereal.
Got mine today also at Save-On-Foods in Aldergrove–it was my 4th stop and I was ready for my coupon to be rejected again! Superstore’s shelves were empty before I went to work this morning, then Marketplace IGA and Safeway both told me they don’t accept the coupons, too many counterfeit ones out there 😛 I got my free box, but probably spent the same amount in gas and frustration

went looking everywhere in Cambridge(Walmart, food basics, sobeys, zehrs, shoppers drug mart on dundas st) and all were sold out. finally tried shoppers drug mart downtown(water street) and they had a shelf full of them.

so i went to wal-mart and it was sold out!! so what i did was get a box of fibre 1 clusters (they ran out of brown sugar one) and they accepted the coupon! hurray!!
got it! my RCSS (sudbury, on) had them priced at 4.99! crazy, but glad to get them for free instead! Also picked up some free bananas fomr another cereal box coupon and some cheap bread! It was a good shopping day~
I went to 7 stores and not one had them – Walmart, No Frills, Metro, Shoppers, Longo’s, Fortino’s and another No Frills!!! It is a total conspiracy. I should have tried redeeming the coupon for another Cheerios product. I think I was too intent on getting chocolate. Bummer!

Wow there are a lot of judgemental people on this site. I got 6 boxes of the Chocolate Cheerios. I called the store ahead of time to first see if they had the chocolate cheerios – and then asked how many they had in stock. The girl told me they had almost 200… so I didn’t feel bad at all about taking 6.
I have a family that loves their cereal, one box will be gone in one breakfast – so to those that called us “Pigs” for getting more than one – should grow up.
I am going to be donating 3 boxes to our women’s shelter because I know a few women from there that have children and would probably want that.

I got mine this morning from Walmart in Regina. There was none on the cereal aisle, I was lucky and saw them on my way out by the entrance. They seemed to me promoting them so they were moved. Weeheew.

Got my box today. They were out at RCSS where I usually buy, but had some at Sobey’s on the way home. Cashier seemed to be quite familiar with the coupon and rang it up no problem.
