Canadian Parents: Beech Nut Is No Longer Available In Canada Once Current Stock Is Depleted

A Sc’er posted about this a few days ago on the forum and I thought I’d let the blog readers know too.  Beech Nut unfortunately will not be continuing selling their baby foods and items in Canada once their current stock has depleted.  Personally Beech Nut has always been my favourite baby food, it seemed to be thicker and more hearty then brands such as Gerber.  I suggest you stock up now since who knows how long stocks are going to last.  Click here for the forum discussion.

I was disappointed to hear this.I found not only were they the cheapest(with coupons)but they were the closest to “big people” food. They look like something that was homemade.

  2. Alee142010 says:

This sucks! But hey! We probably have beech nut sales to look forward to!

  3. Paula says:

I guess I’d better use my coupons!

  4. kerry says:

Gerber has always been my favorite,I like the fruit varieties as desserts.

  5. Sarry says:

I make my own baby food. Its way cheaper and I know exactly what is in it. I’m surprised you coupontwits don’t know where the real savings are.

  6. Sally says:

Haha Sarry, my youngest is 4. I buy the beech nut squash for the older ones to mix in their spaghetti. For some reason they cant tell with that but with real squash they can.

  7. heather says:

i love the beechnut cereal, it has so much less sugars than nestle and milupa…too bad.

  8. missbobloblaw says:

That is so sad. Beech Nut jarred food has way fewer fillers and nasty sounding ingredients than the ‘other guys’ (Split yellow peas or parsnips anyone?)
Guess I gotta go find the snacks on clearance…. 🙁

  9. honeydoo says:

is there a reason? i have no use for baby products, just curious..

what about PC organics? i’d assume this to have the least ‘fillers’ to speak of..

Make my own baby food…ha!!! I dont understand why people preech this,,,many baby foods are purely organic, with no preservatives, other than a little lemon juice! I use that for my homemade guac. anyways lol. I today have just bought Earths Best Organics…its made in BC, but produced for the US. Go figure?! lol

  11. Stephanie says:

That’s sad! I actually liked the taste of their baby foods, especially the desserts!

  12. Michelle says:

I am SO disappointed…. some of their breakfast varieties were the only thing my fussy toddler will eat. I better get stocking up!

  13. Elizabeth Blaze says:

I was at Zehr’s in Barrie and their Beechnut products are on clearance sale. I bought the small jars for 25 cents each and the large for 45 cents. I also got a couple of boxes of baby cereal for $1. I would have bought all of the remaining stock to put in the food bank box except for those stupid big pink clearance stickers!

  14. Laurel T says:

That’s really too bad. I have twins with milk allergies (serious ones with epipens and all) and Beech Nut was the only rice cereal they could have. All others contained milk and Heinz had the may contain traces of. PC Organics would have worked if I could get them to eat it…they much prefered the taste and texture of beech nut.

Some large jars are reduced by %50 at RCSS in Kitchener – so they are only .37 cents!!! I stalked up as they don’t expire for 2 years! I was wondering why they were half off – note they were on an end display not on the shelf with the other jarred food.

I am really really sad to hear this. Beach Nut is my favorite ‘baby jar food’ and my daughter will not eat any other kind of Corn. She only eats the Beach Nut Corn. Why are they not selling in Canada anymore? Now that I know this, it’s all starting to make sense (why Loblaws is carrying less and less Beach Nut, when they used to carry loads of it). Does this apply to all Beach Nut products? Including the meals & snacks?
