Hi! Filled it out…but then says get a free sample of Lòreal juicy gloss…but then it wants your cell number & charges per month!! so i cancelled that…yikes!!

  4. Joe Medad says:

It worked OK for the Chocolate, then I just closed the extra stuff.
Has been 4 min and no junk mail.

  5. Jen says:

Carly, same here… I knew something wasn’t right but I followed it for too long anyway, before I finally just closed it. I know to trust my spidey senses.

  6. Natasha says:

I did the same as Jo….I just filled out the info for the Chocolate and then closed the rest…no junk mail either! 🙂

I put a home phone instead of a cell phone and it kept prompting me for a cell number. Did anyone move past to the next screen? Or was I just a sucker and will now get survey calls or charges to my home phone?

Maybe the choco link should come down to avoid others running into trouble like I did with the next screens.

This one smells fishy! Has one every seen Gimi Chocolate?

  9. Zeta McMillan says:

nothing came up for me but i use firefox
    it took the info fine

  10. FatB says:

I ordered mine with no pop ups or anything. Just a confirmation screen saying request received. No further info requested.

I’ve never heard of or seen Gimi chocolate. There are alot of subtle red flags on the site (like on the tasting booth page why would anyone take a photo of the asses of their volunteers and not the front of the booth showing the company logo?)
That said, the intricacy of the deception pleases me. It says “we don’t take all of you for _complete_ idiots” and “we cared enough to spend a lot of time on this”.

I ordered mine…with the pop up coming up…I hope my info didn’t get out.

I submitted my request for a free sample of chocolate and was directed to a page that confirmed my order. This page contained an offer to get a free same from L’Oreal. Since the cosmetic company’s official logo appeared on the site where the link sent me, I assumed this new offer was sponsored by L’Oreal. WRONG!

After I filled in my personal information including a home phone number, I was then sent to a page requesting a cell number. I hesitated for a second, but again, since L’Oreal’s official logo was being used for this offer, I thought I was safe from any marketing scheme or phishing attempt. WRONG!

When I received a text message containing a PIN to input on this site and submitted the information, I was at least cautious enough to keep scrolling down through the text message, past the time/date stamp. I’m glad I did, because only at the very bottom of the message (which many people probably wouldn’t notice unless they manually scrolled down to the absolute bottom of the text), I saw the sentence, “Play 2win $5/week. Text STOP to end.” I immediately hit “Reply” and texted “STOP”. Thank goodness I instantly received another text message confirming “You’re now unsubscribed from METQZ”…followed by another attempt to take my money: “Want games again? $5/week for 5 games. Txt METQZ to 888788. data rates my apply.”

    Damn vultures.

Entered no problem, i wasn’t asked to provide cell # and no spams came to my email

  15. Felicia says:

Ok the thing that I found really odd about this is that there isn’t a single picture of their packaged chocolate. I couldn’t find any images online either. Definitely a scam.

  16. Sally says:

I think its real, just like last time Dana posted a good freebie everyone trashed it and I got it right away…..

  17. Sally says:

Hugh Ass, that web of trust is voted by the people, theres been about 10 freebies people said weren’t real going by the WOT that were completely legit. I do not trust the “WOT”

  18. Cedric says:

Yes, no one I know has ever heard of this chocolate. I dont think any one here has ever seen it too. I do not think this will come. I regret signing up for it : (

  19. Mike says:

If you fill out the form on the chocolate page and press submit it take you to a new page that says “request received” and then there is an Advertisement below it which takes you to a L’oreal page that asks you for your cell number. You should never put your cell number in any of these boxes as they start charging you money like $5 for every text they send you.

The chocolate form is legit but the advertisement is spam. Just have to read people.

“Ok the thing that I found really odd about this is that there isn’t a single picture of their packaged chocolate.”

And for those of you that don’t believe the company is real, here is their homepage on the same site. http://www.gimichocolate.com/
Lots of pictures of good looking chocolate there.

Also, just because someone is displaying an Official Loreal logo does not make it L’oreal. It is just someone using their logo, probably illegally. Don’t fool yourself, you should learned by now that if something is too good to be true, then it probably is. I am surprised you have not heard of knockoffs.

ditto this.. I had no issues.. and was not asked to put # in..

  22. Cedric says:

Mike- Felicia said that there is no pictures of the packaged chocolate on the site and that is true. You did not read the comment correctly.

I did give my cell phone…not sure why. I never do. But now I just keep receiving these stupid text about “at the kareoke bar ask for a duet song and ask a guy in the crowed to sign with you” or “smile, smile with white teeth”. This is rediculus, my husband’s begining to think I have an affair…with all these weird text. I’ll try to send them a “STOP” text back…we’ll see what happens then.

  24. Rachel says:

I gave my cell too – I feel pretty stupid now. Anyways, I texted STOP to one of the random messages that they sent me (I deleted the original one that said that it cost $5 and to text them if you wanted to unsubscribe without reading it…oops) and just got a message confirming that I’m unsubscribed – phew! Hopefully I don’t get any more annoying spam and they don’t somehow charge me $5 through my phone bill or something!

Great topic, I think with u blogs should have talks on as blogs are giving a view of the writer & after getting talks from others, she can get a better version of the point of view she has shown.
