Nintendo 3DS Is Now Available For Pre Order At Future Shop Canada Releases March 27 2011

nintendo11

The Nintendo 3DS is now availble for pre order at Future Shop online.  The offical release date is March 27 2011, with a steep retail value of $249.99. The base colours are a beautiful teal blue and of course traditional black.

The 3DS is home to the classic Nintendo DS controls with a handful of significant differences that completely change the face of portable gaming. It still has the classic controls, as well as the touchscreen and stylus. But it also has a 3D display that’s 10% larger, and a Circle Pad. Together, they create an experience that comes to life with never-seen-before detail and the accuracy of a console gaming system.

Other awesome features include:

3D Depth Slider that lets you select the level of 3D they enjoy the most
Built-in motion sensor and gyro sensor can react to the motion and tilt of the system
3 cameras: one pointing inward, and two pointing outward that allow you to capture awesome 3D images, manipulate your pics, and even super-impose one on another
Sleep mode allows you to use the 3DS as a pedometer that lets you earn coins in exchange for additional content as you walk
Built-in parental controls that can be used to limit Internet access or some of the wireless functions
StreetPass lets you exchange game information with other Nintendo 3DS systems
SpotPass connects the device to public hotspots and receive new content and updates
Nintendo 3DS Sound lets you enjoy sound-manipulation tools or listen to MP3 or AAC music files
The Mii Maker application gives you new tools to create Mii characters even more easily
Nintendo eShop gives you access to downloadable games, as well as older games that were available for Game Boy and Game Boy Colour
Compatibility with all current Nintendo DS games Includes memory card slot and 2GB memory card (can be expanded later

Some of the features on this model look like they will be really neat.  The 3d of course being the big one, but the three cameras sound pretty cool too!  This will be on top of my sons wishlist for his birthday.  Will you be buying one?

Looking for a Creative Blogger for SmartCanucks *Paid Job*

I’d like to expand the scope of SmartCanucks’ blog and offer more interesting and creative articles that are fun and useful to read. For example price comparisons at different stores, shopping strategies, financial tips or any interesting ideas you come up with!

I’m looking for a person who can write proper English, is a creative and talented writer, has an OCD to posting properly formatted and elegant looking posts and has a wealth of interesting ideas. Sense of humour is a plus but not a must.

For some articles (not all), you need to be willing to go the extra mile to do the research required to come up with correct and factual information. For example if you’re comparing prices at 2 tech stores you need to be able to go to the stores and do the necessary research.

If you think you have the talent to do this please send me an email. Let me know why you are different and how you can help. Show me examples of your writings if possible. I’ll then contact you by email and give you more information on this position.

My email is smartcanucks at gmail d0t com

From Smart Canucks to You and Your Loved Ones Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

santa_canada

Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse.
The stockings were hung by the chimney with care,
In hopes that St Nicholas soon would be there. The children were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of sugar-plums danced in their heads.
And mamma in her ‘kerchief, and I in my cap,
Had just settled our brains for a long winter’s nap.

When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from the bed to see what was the matter.
Away to the window I flew like a flash,
Tore open the shutters and threw up the sash.

The moon on the breast of the new-fallen snow
Gave the lustre of mid-day to objects below.
When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,
But a miniature sleigh, and eight tinny reindeer.

With a little old driver, so lively and quick,
I knew in a moment it must be St Nick.
More rapid than eagles his coursers they came,
And he whistled, and shouted, and called them by name!

“Now Dasher! now, Dancer! now, Prancer and Vixen!
On, Comet! On, Cupid! on, on Donner and Blitzen!
To the top of the porch! to the top of the wall!
Now dash away! Dash away! Dash away all!”

As dry leaves that before the wild hurricane fly,
When they meet with an obstacle, mount to the sky.
So up to the house-top the coursers they flew,
With the sleigh full of Toys, and St Nicholas too.

And then, in a twinkling, I heard on the roof
The prancing and pawing of each little hoof.
As I drew in my head, and was turning around,
Down the chimney St Nicholas came with a bound.

He was dressed all in fur, from his head to his foot,
And his clothes were all tarnished with ashes and soot.
A bundle of Toys he had flung on his back,
And he looked like a peddler, just opening his pack.

His eyes-how they twinkled! his dimples how merry!
His cheeks were like roses, his nose like a cherry!
His droll little mouth was drawn up like a bow,
And the beard of his chin was as white as the snow.

The stump of a pipe he held tight in his teeth,
And the smoke it encircled his head like a wreath.
He had a broad face and a little round belly,
That shook when he laughed, like a bowlful of jelly!

He was chubby and plump, a right jolly old elf,
And I laughed when I saw him, in spite of myself!
A wink of his eye and a twist of his head,
Soon gave me to know I had nothing to dread.

He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work,
And filled all the stockings, then turned with a jerk.
And laying his finger aside of his nose,
And giving a nod, up the chimney he rose!

He sprang to his sleigh, to his team gave a whistle,
And away they all flew like the down of a thistle.
But I heard him exclaim, ‘ere he drove out of sight,
“Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good-night!”

Merry Christmas Smart Canuck Readers!

Can you please do us a favour?

As some of you might know we have a large community on SmartCanucks. We used to have a very beloved friend called BeastMaster who sadly passed away a year ago. He loved ferrets and while on SmartCanucks he had asked us to vote for his small ferret website so that he can get 10,000 votes and hit “platinum“. There was no monetary value to his request.

Since his passing we’ve been trying to fulfill BeastMaster’s request. We have been voting for him throughout the year and have made it to 7,000 votes so far. Unfortunately we have less than a month to go before the voting counter is reset and we still need 3,000 more votes. We would really like to fulfill BeastMaster’s wish and hit platinum and we need your help by voting please!

Voting takes less than 5 seconds, does not require any registration. Click here to vote for BeastMaster’s website please and click on the vote button. Note that you can vote daily!

Coach Leatherware Now Available at Select The Bay Locations

coachThe Bay has just sent me an email announcing that select locations will be carrying Coach Leatherware products. The locations are: Queen Street, Montreal Downtown, Pointe-Claire, Calgary Downtown, Vancouver Downtown, Victoria, and Richmond Centre. Hopefully some people out there who don’t have a Coach store nearby will be near one of these locations. Though you won’t be able to use Coach coupons at The Bay, at least there’s still HBC Rewards.

Looking for an Electronics & Tech Deals Editor/Expert [Paid Job]

I’m looking for an editor to post hot electronics and tech deals daily on SmartCanucks.ca. You must have an excellent knowledge of the prices of different electronics/gadgets/etc. and must be able to differentiate between a seriously hot deal and a mediocre/cold deal.

You should also be constantly active to catch and post the hot deals as soon as they are out because good electronics deals don’t last for long.

You should also have good writing skills and be able to objectively write about the deal, review and evaluate the quality of the products and compare the discounted price to previous sale prices.

If you think you have the skills and knowledge to do a good job and post amazing hot electronics deals that are true bargains please send me an email

smartcanucks at gmail d0t com

Please let me know why you would do a good job. I will contact you with additional information. Thanks!

Yorkdale Mall Toronto Victoria’s Secret Canada Grand Opening August 26th Meet Adriana Lima

victoria_secret

Yorkdale mall has to be one of my top 5 favourite malls. The washrooms are so nice I could probably live in them haha!  On August 26th Victoria’s Secret is having their grand opening and one of their angels Adriana Lima will be there for a meet and greet and signing autographs from 1:30-3:30pm.  Personally in the picture above she scares me. Theres something strange about her eyes. Maybe it’s just a  bad picture.

Anyways they also are offering a free tote when you spend $75 or more.  Click here for more information.
