Apotex Inc. is voluntarily recalling one lot of Alysena 28 birth control pill (lot LF10133A) after complaints about chipped pink pills in sealed blister packages.
Alysena 28 is a prescription drug used to prevent pregnancy. It contains 21 âactiveâ pink pills and 7 âinactiveâ white pills. Active pills that are chipped may contain less of the active drug ingredients, which may reduce Alysenaâs effectiveness in preventing pregnancy.
Products affected
Alysena 28 (DIN 02387883), lot LF10133A, expiry date 10/2019
What you should do
Check your pills before and after taking them out of the blister package. Do not consume a pill if it looks unusual (for example, it is chipped, has jagged edges or is broken). Examine both sides of each pill thoroughly before taking it. It may not be immediately obvious from looking at the blister package that there is a problem with the pills since the underside of the pill cannot be seen while in the blister pack.
If you have a package with an unusual-looking pill, return it to your pharmacy for a replacement package.
Do not stop taking your birth control pills as this may result in pregnancy. Talk to a health care professional if you have questions or concerns about your birth control product, including about missed doses and alternatives.

You know it wouldn’t be long before Canada got their own budget airline, following the trend that has been sweeping across Europe and Asia for the past few years. And so the announcement from West Jet Canada that they are launching a new budget airline, Swoop Canada, was met with a warm welcome from Canadians who have long been itching from the travel-bug.
Right now, you can get one-way airfares on Swoop for as little as $39 as part of their intro offer, but you had better hurry as these offers are going fast!
To receive this fare, you will have to book by February 7 at 11:59m MT, or until the flights are sold out (the latter will most likely happen before the former!)
How, you may ask, is Swoop able to provide such discounted fare? Well, first of all, the fare will cover just that â your fare. This means that you’ll get just a guarantee of your seat and one personal item (not carry-on). You will pay more for checked bags, watching movies, for additional legroom, or for the option to access wi-fi.
Also, since this airline is still in the early stages, you will have a fairly limited scope of where you can fly within Canada. The routes will initially include six weekly flights between Abbotsford and Hamilton and six weekly flights between Hamilton and Halifax. And then starting on June 25, Swoop will add six weekly flights between Hamilton and Edmonton and between Hamilton and Winnipeg.
When I last checked for June, there were one-way flights going from Halifax to Hamilton in June for just $99; as a source of comparison, Porter, who used to be considered the discount fare airline, sold me a one-way ticket from Halifax to Hamilton in March for double that price.
This is a nice little incentive to take the whole family out for a movie night, or even just to pile all your friends in a car so as to avoid the TTC. Right now, the City of Toronto is offering you the chance to grab parking downtown for FREE. Yes, you heard correctly. Free. Downtown. Parking.
To qualify for this offer, you will first have to download the Green P app (Android or iOS) and then you will have to park in one of the spots along the King Street Pilot, as shown on this map. You will then have to enter the promo code, kingpilot, when you are paying for your parking. This will automatically give you a $10 credit, worth two hours of parking.
You can use this offer a maximum of once per day and it will be available until November 2018, meaning you can enjoy it all through the summertime as well.
