Canadian Freebies, Free Stuff

Each month, select Lego Stores across Canada offer a free workshop event where you not only get to learn how to make a different Lego model using simple brick pieces, but you also get to take home the model free of charge. In this month’s Monthly Mini Model Build Workshop your child, between the ages of 6-14, will get to build their very own koala.

The mini model event will be taking place at your local Lego Store tomorrow at 5pm and will be running until quantities sell out – which I imagine will be rather early on, so I’d suggest getting there on time if not earlier. The following stores have confirmed that they will be taking part in this freebie event, but if you don’t see your local Lego Store you can call to confirm whether or not they will be offering the free mini model build this month.
These stores include:
Alberta:
- Calgary-Chinook Centre
- Edmonton-Southgate Centre
Ontario:
- Toront0-Fairview Mall
- Toronto-Sherway Gardens
- Toronto-Yorkdale Shopping Centre
British Columbia:
- Surrey-Guilford Town Centre
- Vancouver-Oakridge Centre
Quebec
- Lavel-Carrefour Laval
- Montreal-Fairview Pointe Claire

Tomorrow is the much anticipated Free Comic Book Day in Canada, an event that is hosted annually on the first Saturday of May. We posted about this event earlier in April but thought it would be fair to give those of you who missed out on it a reminder that you can pick up a free comic book at any participating comic book shop around Canada.
The Free Comic Book Day website has a store locator so that you can punch in your postal code to find the nearest participating comic book shop to you. And if you are on their site, you should also check out the list of comic books that are being included in this year’s freebie event.

If you check out this week’s flyer from No Frills Canada in Ontario, you will see that they are having a massive sale this week (from May 1st-7th) where a number of grocery products are on sale for just $1 and $2. While this sale alone is one that would make for a hot deal (no name 1kg bag of apples are being sold for just $1!), when you combine this sale with the WebSaver.ca coupon on Catelli Smart Pasta Product you can actually get a free box of pasta.

As indicated in the No Frills flyer, they are currently selling Catelli Garden Select Pasta Sauce (640g) or Catelli Healthy Harvest, Smart or Bistro Pasta (375g) for just $1, so when you combine it with the WebSaver $1 off coupon for Catelli Smart Pasta you will be able to get a box of pasta for free!

Unlike the hot coupon that was available the other day at Bath and Body Works Canada, where you could get a free item with no purchase required, this recent coupon will get you a higher value free item ($15 value) and all you have to spend is $10 or more in-store.

This coupon will be valid until Thursday, May 7th and it cannot be combined with any other coupons. If you’re in need of some inspiration as to what you could by to meet your $10 minimum, I’d suggest checking out this new offer on the Screen Doors and Sweet Tea Collection of 3-wick candles. These candles are being sold for $12.50 each, but this offer is only valid for today only.

KFC Canada has a couple of hot offers going on right now that will most definitely fill you and your entire family up, and you won’t have to spend more than $5 a head for dinner making these savvy deals even more appealing.
The first offer that KFC has going on right now is their $5 Fill Up meals, where you will have the choice between four different meals that will only cost you $5. These combos are available everywhere in Canada, except for Quebec which has a few modifications to the meals. The $5 fill ups that you can choose from include:
- 2-pc. drum & thigh, fries/mash, buttery bread, medium drink and cookie
- popcorn chicken, fries/mash, buttery bread, medium drink and cookie
- 1-pc. white meat, fries/mash, buttery bread, medium drink and cookie
- chicken bowl, medium drink and cookie
In Quebec, instead of the chicken bowl meal you will have a meal of chicken and poutine and for the rest of the meals they will remove the mashed potatoes option.

For the special KFC Mother’s Day offer, you can choose from any of the feasts, so the prices will vary, and with each purchase you will receive a $10 gift voucher for KFC that you can be used on your next visit. In addition to the $10 gift voucher, you will also receive a $20 spa gift certificate that mom can use this year for Mother’s Day. The $10 voucher must be used between June 15th and 21st, while the spa gift certificate will expire on July 31st.
