H&M Canada is will be having a massive markdown event this weekend, where you can pick up entire outfits for under $30. The weekend sale will only be available in-stores, so the prices shown on the website will not reflect each specific stores availability and selection of styles. So far we’ve been able to collect some of the kinds of deals you can expect see this weekend, which there is sure to be more variety of when you’re shopping in-store.

In addition to this weekend VIP event at Sears, for those of you shopping on this superstitious Friday the 13th, you’re about to stumble upon a lucky break, that is an extra 13% off on already reduced merchandise. While shopping through the already reduced merchandise sale, where select products have been brought down by 40%, I was able to find this Bissell CleanView Plus for almost 50% off. Normally, this vacuum is sold for $129.99, but with today’s extra savings promo code, plus the initial sale price, I will only have to pay $60.90.

Canadian Tire is kicking off their mid-winter mega sale today, February 13th, and will be running these hot deals until Thursday, February 19th. In this week long sale you will be able to save up to 75% off on select products, like a 10-piece KitchenAid Stainless Steel Cookware set (now only $99.99), plus more amazing mark-downs on items from departments like kitchen appliances, tools, and household products.

Shoppers Drug Mart’s deals this weekend are shaping up to be quite a weekend of savings, as they will be running two different campaigns, one right after another, that can save you upwards of $30. The first offer, as you will remember from our post the other day, is for people who have been tirelessly saving up their Shoppers Optimum Points. You can see those points go much further, if you shop this Saturday, February 14th, and use them on Beauty Redemption products, as Shoppers will be rewarding bonus points to on cosmetics, skincare, hosiery, fragrances and many more beauty related accessories.
The bonus points for this offer will be broken down as such:

While most of you will probably be tempted to spend your $70 gift card on some more new games (or pre-played titles), you could also check out this sale that Best Buy is having on this black Fresno Double Futon, which is now just $149. Saving you $250, this sale on the Fresno Futon is a great deal but would also be a considerable addition to your gaming space – as it’s comfortable enough to relax on all day gaming, but can then be easily pulled out as a bed for your friends when they (inevitably) sleep over.
Good news from VIA Rail Canada; for those of you who may have missed out on yesterday’s discounted Tuesday sale with VIA Rail, they have extended their offer and made the savings even bigger by offering you up to 55% off economy fares across Canada and on business class travel for the Quebec City – Windsor corridor.
This sale will be running until February 14th, 2015, making it an opportune time to book your Valentine’s Day getaway – should you not be able to travel this weekend, as the booking must be made 3 days in advance. You can, however, book your weekend getaway up until February 28th, 2015, and if you’re opting for the business class offer, you will only be allowed to travel on weekends (Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays).
I was able to find the incredibly low price of $115.26 for a roundtrip ticket from Toronto Union Station to Montreal for a week long trip in the middle of February; as if you can’t afford to fly south, going somewhere beats sticking around home, am I right? The one-way fares for this trip were so low, it would almost be worthwhile to upgrade to business class, since it would only cost $99 each way, for a total of $198.

VIA Rail Canada is having another one of their great discount Tuesdays deals, where you can save on both Economy fare and Sleeper fare, should you book before midnight tonight and travel on the specified days set out by VIA Rail. Those days, if you are travelling on economy fare, are between February 11th up to February 17th, and if you are travelling on sleeper fare, you must travel between February 11th and March 10th.
If you’re needing to book a last minute trip, which is what this sale is really targeted for, then you should definitely check out VIA Rail’s prices before booking a flight. For instance, I was looking for last minute prices on a trip to Winnipeg from Toronto for this weekend, and while it does take longer to get there, the prices were nearly half that of if you were to book a flight.
I used Google Flight Tracker (every travel buddies best friend) to compare the airplane prices for the same trip that would be leaving on February 11th and returning for February 17th. The flights for this trip, on average, would’ve cost $773, while a train trip would cost you $375.90 (taxes included).
