Getting your kids outfitted for summer can often be a costly endeavour, as well as a seemingly pointless one considering how summertime is also the unofficial season for growth spurts that leave your kids’ school pants looking more like tight fitting capris – or even board shorts. Hudson’s Bay Canada is looking out for us though and is offering a babies‘ and kids’ clearance sale with apparel, swimwear, accessories and more on sale for up to 60% off the regular price.

In the baby portion of the clearance sale, there are some rather sweet outfits – and deals – from the designer brand Calvin Klein. This embroidered denim dress is on sale for $19.99 (reg. $40) and this tropical logo and microfibre shorts set is also on sale for just $19.99 (reg. $40).

And in the kids’ sale has also got some rather hot offers inside it as well, which are also seasonally appropriate with lots of shorts, tanks, dresses and tees being offered. For instance, this adorable floral print jumper is on sale for $31.20 (reg. $52) and these Dex cuffed Bermuda shorts for boys are being sold for $19.99 (reg. $34).
The Hudson’s Bay offers FREE shipping on orders that are $45+ (or $29+ on beauty purchases) when you pay with your Hudson’s Bay credit card, or $99+ (or $49+ on beauty purchases) when you pay with any other form of tender.

One of Canada’s most fabled department stores, whose catalogue has been a coffee table feature of most Canadians homes for the past few decades, made an announcement on Tuesday that there is “significant doubt” about Sears future and that they could be selling the company.
This announcement comes at the heels of many other staple Canadian retailers who are struggling to compete in the e-commerce world of online shopping. Sears reported in their first-quarter a loss of $144.4 million – which is a 15.2 percent decline in revenue from last year.
In their first-quarter results, Sears cites online shopping as one of the main competitors that is threatening their efforts to transform the department store for the modern consumer, saying:
“The company continues to face a very challenging environment with recurring operating losses and negative cash flows from operating activities in the last five fiscal years, with net losses beginning in 2014.”
There have been improvements in sales at Sears retail stores, partially due to their efforts of adding discount designer lines to their selection, their revenue still fell to just $505.5 million (a $90 million drop) largely because of a loss of interest in catalogue sales.
Sears currently runs 95 department store and 26 Sears Home locations, plus an additional 14 outlets.
The department store giant has postponed their annual meeting, which was scheduled for Wednesday at 8am and Jeffrey Stollenwerck, who is not standing for re-election as a director, has resigned effective Tuesday.

The Royal Canadian Mint is offering two novelty coins that are being offered at a very low mintage of 5,500 coins being produced worldwide, making these already unique coins a little extra special.
The two coins are commemorating two very important parts of Canada’s culture and history, with the first coin hailing from the Canadian Honours Collection. This newly released coin is designed to commemorate the Order of Military Merit, an honour for military service that only 4,700 service men and women have received since its creation in 1972. The coin celebrates the 45th anniversary of this recognition in military service by reproducing the real insignia on a 1oz. silver coin.
The coin will cost $109.95 and will ship for FREE. But you had better act quickly on this coin, as at the time of this posting there were already 76% sold.

The second newly released coin from the Mint is from the Ancient Canada collection, which features ancient fossils from across Canada engraved into a coin with precision techniques that have been certified by the Alberta Royal Tyrrell Museum of Palaeontology to be as accurate a representation as possible. This coin, the Ogygopsis 1oz. Silver Coin, features an early arthropods known as trilobites that dates back about 500 million years. This “stone bug”, as it is colloquially known, is being studied in British Columbia’s Yoho National Park, where fossils of these ancient creatures have previously been found.
This ancient Canada collection coin will cost $134.95, but it too will ship for FREE.

Getting your coffee by bulk is one of the best ways to save money in the long run. (And a little tip for retaining freshness, store your unground beans in the freezer until you’re ready to use them) And if you’re looking for a deal to stock up on your beans for the next couple of weeks, you should head over to Starbucks Store Canada where they are offering whole bean or ground coffee in a buy 3, get 1 FREE offer.

To receive your free bag of ground or whole bean coffee you will have to enter the promo code, EXPLORE, at checkout once you’ve added four qualifying bags of coffee. And if you head over to the sale section at Penningtons, you can pick up already reduced items for an extra 40% off. The discount will already be applied to the sale items, so the price you see will be the price you get. The unveiling of one of the gaming world’s biggest tech giants is being met with what can only be described as a mixed bag of emotions. The new Xbox One X is being marketed by the company as being the “world’s most powerful console”, which if you dig into the specs enough you’ll see that it probably is one the most powerful consoles on the market right now, but, people are asking, at what cost?
The Xbox One X was announced last year at E3 under the pseudonym of Project Scorpio and was teased as being the smallest and fastest console to be produced. But when gamers were shown the renamed Xbox One X model (a name that has nearly as many complaints lodged against it as the price tag itself, which is a whopping $499 USD) at this year’s E3 conference, they were quick to point out the frightfully close similarities between the One X and the Xbox One S – which was released last year.

The Xbox One S was also marketed as being a faster, slimmer version of previous console models, and the Xbox One X is just a minor improvement from its immediate predecessor, though it’s $100 more expensive (Xbox One S runs for about $399).
That being said, this will be one of the fastest consoles that Microsoft has ever produced and will place it far ahead of its direct competitor, the PS4 Pro. Though the PS4 Pro has 4K capabilities like the new Xbox One X, it only has 8GB of RAM to the One X’s 12GB, and only 4.12 teraflops of graphics processing power compared to the 6 that the Xbox One X totes.
But all this doesn’t really mean that much to the average gamer. When placed side by side, a confused parent come holiday season will see the Xbox One S and the Xbox One X, both of which are marketed as being “faster and slimmer”, and will only see one real difference: the price tag.
Another hiccup on Microsoft’s presentation and release of this new console was their failure to emphasize the console’s virtual reality capabilities. While Sony has been churning out over a million VR headsets that are compatible with PlayStation, the Xbox One X made no mention of any VR game that would be launching with the console.
What are your thoughts on the new Xbox One X?

Joe Fresh Canada is continuing with their FREE shipping offer on all orders with no minimum spend requirement and no promo code required. But in case you weren’t already enticed with that offer, there’s also some amazing deals for women, men, kids and babies inside the clearance sale that would be worth checking out, as they are starting for as little as $2.94.

For the women, I was able to go through the new arrivals section and pick out an outfit that cost only $32. This boyfriend tank is being sold for just $16 while this fringe scarf, which would complement the graphic print from the tank top quite nicely, is also being sold for $16.

In the toddler girl clearance sale there were even better deals to be found. This crew neck graphic tee is now only $3.94 (reg. $8) and these striped leggings are only $5.94 (reg. $8), making the entire outfit cost only $9.88 (reg. $16).
Joe Fresh will be offering free shipping until June 14.

During a routine testing, the chocolate company Mars has decided to voluntarily recall thousands of Galaxy chocolate products after detecting a possible presence of salmonella in some of the chocolate confectioners products.

The company also said that though they have received no complaints, they are continuing with the recall as a precautionary measure.
