Great video, but it doesn’t really show what it was really like. The thrill here is all the people trying to take cover.
I drive truck and was in Edmonton the day of the storm. I looked much more fierce in real life. It didn’t last long though, but was very exciting.
In 9 years of driving truck, chasing or outrunning storms is one of my favorite things on the road. Call me crazy, but i love the storms.
Still amazes me everytime to see the storm clouds brewing.

As my sister in Alberta says, “one minute it’s nice here, next it’s totally different weather…you wake up with sun, and by the afternoon it’s snowing…lol”
    Thats a pretty intense storm!

I live in Cold Lake,AB (On the base) and my truck was SO damaged by hail, that it needs it’s hood replaced (over 40 huge dents JUST on the hood), and expensive dent repair to the roof. My Echo is also all completely dimpled and pummeled. Strangely enough, a lot of the surrounding area was somehow missed by the hail, but the collision repair place here is EXTREMELY busy- Funny, because it was absolutely beautiful before the storm hit:) (We went outside and played in it, but wow, it hurt! Saved some golfball sized hail in the freezer though- Never saw it that big before.

Well Billy-I live in Alberta and this storm was WAY worse than the video showed and it is amazing no one got seriously hurt so I think it is nice to see it up here. It was a major storm!
That being said-this was quite alot bigger than what the video shows. Part of Edmonton lost power and the Edmonton Journal wasn’t printed because they had no power so there was no paper! The winds were 106km per hour, golf ball sized hail, terrible lightning, supposedly the sky was turning different colors, funnel clouds, HUGE trees ripped right out of the ground, part of the CN building collapsed, etc. This is not any ordinary storm. Oh and my sister and her husband decided they wanted to save the barbecue when the wind picked it up and blew it across their deck! She is pregnant too! The news sensationalized it of course and made it sound like the end of the world which it wasn’t quite but it was really bad. Cars were also demolished from falling trees and other debree. A house burned down from lightning too. It is funny though because I live in Red Deer and it was really windy but nothing like what was happening in Edmonton. I was trying to take pictures of fireworks from the Westerner days Parade and I was having trouble staying up and not get blown over!

Wow! That was total chaos. I was by whyte ave when this happened, it was an absolutely beautiful storm. Though just about all the trees in my neighborhood are destroyed, and I got to watch about 5 transformers blow with my husband… I’ve also had a couple people tell me about several funnel clouds that formed.

No doubt, it was a beautiful angry storm and the video doesn’t totally capture it.

I’m down in Calgary and hadn’t even heard about this. Interesting video for sure!

Interesting video! These extreme storms are incredible to watch in person, even exciting (while you’re hoping no one gets hurt of course). Weird color clouds; greenish ones, pitch black ones, roiling angrily across the sky. Blew over a semi trailer too out on the highway.
Thought my area missed the brunt of it, but when I went out the next day the biggest tree in the yard was blown over! Thankfully missed landing on anything.

Great video…some people don’t appreciate seeing what can happen in a real storm..they think they are in control but they are not…god is..

Anybody know how it was around the Edmonton Army Base? My son is not there for a week so I have no clue. I hope all our SC friends in the area are fine and their property. We care about you and storms like this are more important than coupons!
