    Nice concept, but very pricy!

I have been seriously considering this for my daughter for christmas. However, I can’t seem to figure out how expensive these downloadable apps are. Does 1 $20 only get you 1 app?

Buy it at mastermind toys this weekend its only 119.95(already $10 cheaper) plus the 25% off coupon they emailed out last week brings it down to $89.95

or toys r us only $109.99 ($20 cheaper)

Are the Leapfrog app that much better than what’s available on tablets? My 2.5 years old has tons of educational apps and story apps on my ipad that she really enjoys.

I certainly understand ipad is at different price point, but there is greater selection of tablets for android and those can be had at $250 plus range.

I got my $99 HP touchpad, while the children apps selection is limited, I can’t wait to get it working with Android to open up wider apps selection.

Wow, pricey! I have trouble spending that on electronics for myself, never mind a child. What do kids get out of using this item?

if you are referring to my situation being pricy.. My child only get about 15 minutes a week with it. Those tablets are for me and my wife to surf. I would agree it’s pricy if it is solely for child use.

Last Christmas I bought the leapfrog explorer and what a disappointment. I wouldn’t spend that kind of money on a leapfrog product again. 9 months later the volume doesn’t work, two cartidges don’t work and Leapfrog doesn’t care. Warranty is up already.

these are only $99 in the wish book, I think they’re on page 725. I’m thinking about getting them for my neice who is 3 and my nephew who is 20 months. I gave my neiece a used iPod touch last year just before christmas and she loves it. I was going to buy them new iPod touch’s for christmas but this looks much more afforable and kid friendly. They both love my iPhone and the iPod touch she has now (even though the battery is toast). $200 compared to $500 sounds better to me. Then again I’ve already got a ton of kids apps on my phone and if I got them iPod’s they would just go on their’s without costing me more to download new games. I guess I still have some time to make the decision.

ray – no, I was talking about the LeapPad deal, not your post. 🙂
