Here’s something to do with your family & friends for FREE…visit Ontario Place!
To commemorate their 40th Anniversary, Ontario Place is offering free admission to their grounds. Unfortunately, this excludes their new water park which is $11.70/person. Not bad, considering Wild Water Kingdom, which is an older venue, is $30 and Canada’s Wonderland is $56 for adults!!! <– A bit much, if you ask me!
If you’re not fond of driving, consider a TTC Day-Pass for 2 adults or 2 adults/children for $10, unlimited travel! Day-passes are only available for 2+ people on the weekends/holidays.
My only gripe about public transit to Ontario Place is that it lets you off at The Ex and you have to trek across an alley, 2 parking lots, and an overpass bridge before you finally arrive at the actual destination. 🙁
Sorry for not posting this earlier! For some reason, I thought everyone already knew about this deal.
Do they check people now going into the water park?
Your info about the TTC day pass is incorrect. Day passes are available every day of the week. The difference is, on week days they are only valid for one person.
Here is the correct information from the TTC website:
Family / Group
Saturday, Sunday or statutory holiday use only, from the start of service until 5:30 am the next day.
1 adult and not more than 5 children/youths 19 years of age or under;
OR
2 adults and not more than 4 children/youths 19 years of age or under;
OR
2 adults.
Single
Use any day of the week, including statutory holidays – from the start of service until 5:30 am the next day. Good for one person.
Great deal but for transportation there is a free bus from union station and some downtown hotels!
I don’t think my info. is wrong. I just didn’t mention that Day-Passes are available during the week ’cause who wants to go to Ontario Place, ALONE, on a weekday??
As Alleykatt said, there is a free shuttle bus from Union Station (it actually leaves from Maple Leaf Sports Centre (or something like that) behind the station. It leaves on the hour starting at 10am. You can catch it back as well, leaving on the half-hour. Only catch it that it doesn’t run until park closing time, so just check the schedule (you can find more information on the Ontario Place website). The bus was also quite full both times we ways (on a Saturday), but I don’t think it left anyone behind.
@Mark, Yes, they check everyone going into the waterpark now.
Also at the waterpark, there is a brand new section that just opened up that has a pool and a waterfall, and by the eating area there is a sandy beach (more like a gigantic sand box by the water).
@Mark – I didn’t get as far as the entrance of the water park, but it is gated off.
“Day-passes are only available on the weekends/holidays” is incorrect.
You would be surprised, there are people out there that do things alone, on weekdays. How judgmental. Your info IS wrong, as you clearly state they are only available on holidays and weekends which is not true, AND the number of people that can use them is wrong, too. Just trying to help communicate the correct information.
Thanks & yes we knew. . . But it can never be said enough, if it helps just 1 family its well worth saying it 1000 times.
Any one have anything in addition to FREE Ontario Place. travel, coupons etc. . . Do & see as much as possible while we are in the city for the day
Thanks again
Okay, Day-Passes are available during the week, but for single riders.
I think for kids it is better to take day pass as they want to go on all rides and water park also to pay for individual rides will cost more here is link for 3$ off day pass coupon

Just some info – for kids the all day pass is not by age any more, its by HEIGHT.
For my 11 year old who last year would have cost $15, now costs $30 because of his height, as does my 8 year old.
Thanks Stephania for posting the information about the “free grounds admission” at Ontario Place. I appreciate knowing about anything that is “free” 🙂 I’m not from T.O., but I may head down for the 3.5hr drive once this summer and that would be something great to do.
Just wondering if this is for the whole summer or just a limited time.
Thanks again!
Can you pay to JUST go into the waterpark? it isn’t clear on the website ;o(
Hi Stephania….thanks so much for the post. Our family really appreciates it as we LOVE Ontario place 🙂 Also, we have 4 x FREE Play ALL DAY passes for children under 15 for trade. If anyone is interested, please PM me.
Thanks again for the post and the reminder!!
There is a small bus that leaves daily in front of Union Station which takes you directly to Ontario Place and return for free I’m not certain of the times but I imagine every 30 to 45 minutes depending on traffic.
When does this deal end? It’s been 20 years since I was last at Ontario place, but the times I was there I had a good time.
I’m up to T dot O for a day on a cheap cheap cheap Megabus ticket late in August.
Yes a weekday, I might be by myself.
I really appreciat the transit info too!
You mentioned that people would not want to go to the ex or ontario place alone on a weekday.
This is wrong.
Every year, one of the highlights of my summer is to go to the ex alone. I also go with family, friends, dates etc…. however, I find that I especially enjoy the times I go alone.
I am not antisocial, I just like to feel like a kid again. When I was young, one of my dreams was to be able to go to the ex alone as an adult and be able to do whatever I wanted.
Every year, I satisfy this childhood fantasy of mine and I feel like a little kid again. It helps that I do not care what others might say about a person at the ex alone; afterall… they are strangers who matter nothing. All that is relevant when I am there alone, is my own childish fun.
